Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya was established in the year 1963 by Bhagat Phool Singh. The university expanded over time and gave rise to 6 constituent institutions:
- BPS Memorial Girls’ College (1967)
- BPS College of Education (1968)
- MSM Ayurvedic College (1973)
- BPS Mahila Polytechnic (1984)
- TIG Bhainswal Kalan(1999)
- PSD Girls’ Law College (2003)
Furthermore, the university has established its two Regional Centres at Kharal (Jind) and Lulla Ahir (Rewari).
