It is always good to seek inspiration and motivation from achievers around you. People like Shubham Ajmera aren’t from another planet, they are just like other common folks. What makes them outshine others is their discipline and hard work.

Shubham has a good grasp in coding and problem solving, both of which are absolute essentials for his job profile. He used to attend his lectures religiously, and spent equal time in self study. He read a lot, and made good use of the college library and other resources. He held discussions with the professors, and at the same time, shared his insights with his juniors. Other than learning, he enjoys playing chess, numbers and mind games.

Though it is good to seek inspiration from Shubham, make sure to not copy him entirely. Things might work a bit differently for you. Pick up the good bits from such stories, and try to be unique in your own ways.

Students who are technology lovers have formed their own clubs to promote the same. Some of them are:

• Robotronics Club: This club organizes workshops and combines robotics with electronics along with the "RoboWars" for the "Robo" Freaks.
• Programming Club: This club is for coding lovers to explore beyond academics.

Societies and Events

• The literary society of IIT Mandi EDLS organizes Group Discussions, Debates, and Just a Minute regularly.
• The Music Society, Dramatics Society, and Dance Society also conduct competitions daily.
• IIT Mandi's annual Tech-Cult Fest is Exodia wherein the students showcase their creativity and talents 

Hostel Facility

• IIT Mandi has a residential campus housing around 1300 students in 5 boys’ hostels and 2 girls’ hostels. 
• The south campus consists of four hostels; while the north campus has three hostels.
• IIT Mandi has four messes on the campus, two each on both campuses.
• The hostels have all basic facilities like WI-FI internet connection, LCD television, washing machine, cloth dryer, microwave oven, induction heater, refrigerator, electric iron and facilities for indoor games such table tennis, foosball, carom, etc. 

So, The students of IIT Mandi love to participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, thereby ensuring a very strong all-round development of their personality. 

If you're considering studying at IIT Mandi, here are some points you might find useful:

• Ragging is not something you need to worry about at IIT Mandi. The seniors are helpful and supportive.
• The smaller batch strength (compared to other IITs) at IIT Mandi comes with its own advantages. You get opportunities to work on projects even if you have no prior knowledge, as long as you're willing to learn.
• Unlike other bigger institutions where hundreds of students stay in one hostel, at IIT Mandi, you have clusters of hostels with about 150 students in each hostel. In your first year, you'll stay together with almost the whole batch, but in later years, you get to stay with awesome seniors in your hostel. Some seniors even hold positions in technical secretariats and club coordinators, making it a great environment to work in. You can join clubs and be part of the core team as long as you're willing to work.
• If you're concerned about placements, rest assured that top companies come for placement and internship drives at IIT Mandi. The institute was placed 6th in median salary.
• In terms of drawbacks, the sports facilities at IIT Mandi aren't quite up to the mark, but this is expected to improve with more students returning to campus and a new Director taking charge. The roads have been in bad shape this season, but repairs are expected as soon as the weather permits.
• On the brighter side, there are some fun fests at IIT Mandi to lighten the mood. While not all fests are legendary, Exodia and Rann-Neeti are quite awesome if you get involved. Even the intra-college fests are cool and enjoyable. The sports culture here is just awesome, not just on the campus but even in Mandi, where people are great sports enthusiasts. You can also showcase your technical and non-technical talents at various events. And there's unlimited high-speed internet, although with some restrictions to make you think and explore for solutions.

My sister is an alumnus of IIT Mandi and her experience at IIT Mandi is what motivated me to write this answer. 

• IIT Nandi faculty is highly cooperative and you can approach the teachers almost any time of the day 
• Good projects are awarded to the students of IIT Mandi. This is a source of inspiration as you feel proud of contributing somehow. 
• IIT Mandi has been chosen as a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) among a few other IITs, under the Startup India campaign. This has strengthened the entrepreneurship culture at the institute. 
• The batch size of IIT Mandi is quite small in comparison to other engineering colleges. This provides more chances to participate and take up responsible roles. 
• Sports facilities at IIT Mandi include a functional cricket ground, football field, basketball court, and tennis court. Additionally, there is an indoor badminton court, a table tennis room, and a decent gym. IIT Mandi has a well-equipped mechanical lab that receives new inventory and machinery from time to time. 
• 24/7 Wi-Fi facilities 

Cons

• Owing to its remote location, IIT Mandi fails to retain good academic talent and maintains a consistent good curriculum.
• Being new and also because of its location, IIT Mandi is still not recognized m by many companies for on-campus placements. 

All in all, IIT Mandi has a very happening campus life that will leave you with millions of memories.

Located in the beautiful Himalayan region of India? IIT Mandi has the most beautiful campus in India. It spreads over an area of around 800 acres and is surrounded by lush green forests and picturesque mountains.

IIT Mandi Campus;

• The campus is equipped with top infrastructure, well-equipped labs, modern classrooms, and a variety of sports and recreational facilities
• The campus also has a number of hostels and guest houses for students and faculty. 
• Additionally, there is a stationery shop on the campus and also a provisional store from where you can buy all items of daily use.
• Shuttle buses operate to and fro the campus and keep the campus well connected. 
• IIT Mandi also has a medical unit that takes care of minor injuries and diseases. 
• IIT Mandi has four canteens on the South Campus and a semi-restaurant called Kamand-Treat quite close to the campus.

Overall, the campus of IIT Mandi is considered to be one of the most beautiful and well-maintained in the country.

The college life at IIT Mandi is very poor because of the remote location. You will not be able to experience urban college life. The branches are not at par with the Mechanical and Electrical branches of IIT Indore and Jodhpur. 

CS at IIT Mandi is decent though. Despite being new, IIT-Mandi has recorded an increase in placement over the past five years. IIT Mandi CSE average salary increased from 14.79 LPA in 2018 to 33.68 LPA in 2022.
