IIT Dhanbad B.Tech/Integrated M.Tech Admission: How to Apply?

All the eligible candidates have to first register at JoSSA to participate in the seat allocation process. Fill the choices and don't forget to lock your preferences. A total of six or seven rounds of JoSSA Counselling are conducted. 

In each round candidates have to go through document verification and acceptance/withdrawal of seat. After the seat confirmation, a provisional allotment letter is to be downloaded along with the payment of seat acceptance fee for IIT Dhanbad admission.

The admission to IIT Dhanbad M.tech commences in the month of April-June every year. Total 29 specializations are offered in M.Tech. 

IIT Dhanbad M.Tech Eligibility Criteria:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Mater's degree in Science with minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.0. 
• SC/ST candidates must have a minimum 55% marks or CGPA 5.5.

IIT Dhanbad M.Tech Admission: How to Apply?

Candidates having valid GATE score have to apply on the admission portal of IIT Dhanbad website. After that registration at COAP portal is to be done to participate in the counselling process. There are 3 stages in the GATE COAP- Registration, Online seat allotment, and admission acceptance. 

Based on preferred choices and GATE score, COAP counselling rounds take place. In each round, candidates have to either Accept and Freeze, Retain and Wait, Reject and Wait.

IIT Dhanbad provides Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) across four streams in various specializations. The selectionto IIT Dhanbad Ph.D (JRF) is through an all India examination and interview. The institute also allows direct entry of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad M.Sc. Tech. and M.Sc. students into Ph.D. programs. 

Under this scheme, top 20% of M.Sc. Tech. /M.Sc Students of respective Departments who obtain an CGPA of 8.5 and above, can apply for direct admission in Ph.D program, with the limit that each Department can have up to a maximum of 10 seats for all the courses offered by that Department taken together.
