Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology offers a full-time Ph.D. program across 15 departments. A PG degree in the relevant discipline with 65% of marks is the minimum requirement to get eligible for admission. For admission, candidates must be GATE/NET qualified and should appear in the entrance exam conducted by the institute.

MANIT Bhopal Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 65% marks (CGPA of 6) and a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 65% (CGPA 6.0), from a recognized University. For the reserved category, a relaxation of 5% (0.5 in CGPA) is applicable.

MANIT Bhopal Ph.D Admission Guidelines

Candidates must have qualified UGC-NET or GATE. CAT is considered only by the Department of Management. In addition to this, performance in the institute entrance exam and interview is also taken into consideration.

Merit list is prepared according to the following criteria:

Application procedure

3. Application fee of Rs 1500 for the open category and Rs 1000 for the reserved category can be paid only through SBI online “SBI Collect”
4. The hard copy of the filled-out form and self-attested copies of required documents must be submitted to Assistant Registrar (Academic), MANIT Bhopal – 462003. 
5. Successful applicants can appear for counselling with original copies of all documents attached to the form.

• Post-graduation marksheet & certificate
• GATE score card/NET/CAT qualified certificate
• Category Certificate
• SBI collect receipt copy

Entrance Exam

A 2-hour entrance test is conducted by the institute for all Ph.D. programs and consists of 3 sections with 200 marks in total.

1. English – 50 marks, 25 Questions
2. Mathematics – 50 marks, 25 Questions
3. Concerned subject – 100 marks, 50 Questions

There will be negative marking for the test. One-fourth mark will be deducted for wrong answers. A relaxation of 5% in the cut-off will be given to candidates in the SC/ST/PwD category.

MANIT Bhopal Projects and MOUs

As of 2020, MANIT has nearly 30 active externally funded research projects, as well as 22 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with various universities and organizations. The projects are funded by organizations such as departments of Government of India, Panasonic, ONGC- Energy centre, Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research, etc. The institute has MOUs with different organizations such as the National Horticulture Board for project work and Ericsson for the training of students.
