Course Details

Mumbai University MSW admission 2024 is open now. The last date to apply has been extended to June 19, 2024. Interested candidates can fill the Mumbai University MSW application form online on the official PG admission portal @muadmission.samarth.edu.in. The first merit list will be released on June 26, 2024.

Mumbai University offers a full-time Master of Social Work for a duration of 2 years. Candidates applying for the MSW program should have the following minimum percentage of marks in all subjects (aggregate) of the qualifying examination

  • MSW General Categories 45%. 
  • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/DT/NT) 40%.

Admission to the Mumbai University MSW Program is a two-step process. The candidates are selected for the MSW entrance test. The final selection is done after the second round, which is a Group Discussion and Personal Interview Round. The entrance test is for 100 marks. Mumbai University MSW Eligibility Criteria

Students who want to take admission in the MSW course of Mumbai University will have to fulfill the eligibility criteria given below:

  • Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration in Arts/ Science/ Commerce/ Law/ Home Science or any other faculty of a recognized university.
  • A higher academic degree or diploma in Social Sciences, as well as experience of working with people, will be an additional qualification.
  • Final-year students can also apply. 
  • Candidates deputed by Government or Private organizations should apply through proper channels with appropriate NOC.
  • No minimum age for admission provided the students meet all other eligibility and admission criteria required by the University.
  • Admissions are open to men, women, and transgender students.

The application form for admission will be available in the Rajiv Gandhi Centre For Contemporary Studies office. The application forms must be completed with relevant documents attached before the last date of application form submission. 

Admissions will be based on a series of admission tests, a group discussion, and a panel interview that takes into consideration the past academic performance of the candidate, proficiency in the

How to Apply?

The application forms of Mumbai University are available both online and offline. The steps to apply for the MSW course at the Mumbai University is given below:

  • Offline: Visit the campus of the University and collect the application form from the office.

Course Work

Duration: The duration of the MSW program at the Mumbai University is 2 years. It is a 2 years full-time program.

End Term Evaluation: The learners to pass a course shall have to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for each course where the course consists of Internal Assessment and Semester End Examination. The learners shall obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the Internal Assessment and 50% marks in Semester End Examination separately, to pass the course and a minimum of Grade E, wherever applicable, to pass a particular semester.

Attendance Requirement: Minimum 75% attendance of lecture classes in each course in each semester. Full attendance for the stipulated hours in fieldwork.

Program Structure: Course work+Research Project+Field Work

Financial Assistance: Students can also avail scholarship facilities during the course. Some of the scholarships are:

  • MahaDBT by the Mumbai Government
