Course Details

BPT is a four-year undergraduate program that is followed by a six-month internship program. All students who have studied PCB and English in 10+2 are eligible to apply. A minimum aggregate of 60% for general candidates (55% for ST/SC/OBC candidates) is required to be eligible.

Sikkim Manipal University BPT Eligibility

The candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in PCB from a recognised Board/University for the General category, and 55% aggregate marks for the ST/SC/OBC category in 10+2.
The candidates must secure 50% marks in the English Language in the 10+2 examination.

SMU BPT Course Structure

The duration of the course is four academic years followed by a six-month internship program.
First and Second Year - Didactic lectures including the basic medical sciences, exercise therapy (regarding handling, positioning, the principles of various techniques used) and electrotherapeutic modalities including the basic concepts of biophysics. Observational training is also included.
Third and Fourth Year - Clinical postings which include outpatients and in-patients of the orthopaedics, neurological, cardiopulmonary, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, surgery etc.
