Sikkim Manipal University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). It was established in 1995 in Gangtok, Sikkim. Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) offers 16 undergraduate, 18 postgraduate, diploma in medical biotechnology, and doctoral courses in all fields. Sikkim Manipal University has divided these courses in the two campuses- Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) and Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS). Sikkim Manipal University Admission 2024

Sikkim Manipal University admission process mostly takes place in three phases. In SMU B.Tech Courses, candidates are supposed to take an entrance test in addition to the marks obtained in higher secondary examinations. Candidates should fill out an online application after which they are registered in the admission process. After selection, subject to eligibility criteria, candidates are required to further take an entrance test.

Sikkim Manipal University offers a variety of facilities to its students. Facilities that are available are hostel, mess, cafeteria, library, restrooms, lift services and much more. 

• Hostel: Both of Sikkim Manipal University's campuses—the technical campus in Majitar and the medical campus in Tadong Sikkim—offer separate hostel accommodations for students. Modern facilities are used throughout the hostel's services to ensure that students are comfortable while away from home. The respective Chief wardens are in charge of all the hostels.

• Library: The institute offers a well-stocked library that meets the requirements of both lecturers and students. The library carries general books in addition to course-related ones. The Institute is a part of the consortium known as the Developing Library Network (DELNET), which gives national elite libraries online access. The college is a subscriber to several of the top academic journals in related subjects.

• Kaalrav: Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Majitar, is hosting the intercollegiate tournament "KAALRAV 2022." Various colleges from throughout the nation and abroad took part in this event. Students from SMCON took part in a treasure hunt, an eastern solo dance, an eastern solo song, and creative writing.
• Sankranti Sandhya: The institute celebrated "Sankranti Sandhya," an evening infused with the joyful spirit of all of India, in honor of Makar Sankranti. The bonfire was lit in the center of the space to kick off the celebration. As part of the Magh Bihu and Lohri tradition, the instructors and students then threw the offering into the fire. Everyone then congregated close to the stage setup as the cultural event got underway. Chromatix gave a stunning musical performance after which the participants sang and participated in a tender shayari round. Following that, several regional cultures were showcased through their dances.
• Manipal Marathon: The Manipal Marathon is a charitable running event that helps 'run can save children with cancer' collect money. Manipal MAHE planned the event, which was hosted by SMIT, Sikkim, and HEIs from the MANIPAL Group. After going around campus once, the event's path went from the Open-Air Theatre to the football field. At the Open-Air Theater, the participants were greeted with a lot of vigor and passion. The event's planners also held this event to raise money for the cause. All of these actions aided in the charity's fundraising efforts.
• Inter Department Sports Tournament: The sports council is in charge of organizing it. Students from every department take part in the competition and go head-to-head. Volleyball, basketball, cricket, table tennis, and football are among the sports that are included in this competition. No outside funding is taken; the event is internally supported.
