  • Annamalai University does not specify any age limit for B.Ed. admission.
  • Applicants should hold a recognized qualification under either 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern of study. Candidates who have pursued a 4-year Engineering & Technology degree should have studied in the 10+2+4 pattern.
  • Candidates who have pursued their qualifying degree in the Open University System should have completed their senior secondary in the 10+2 format only.

  • A merit list is prepared considering the applicants’ marks in the qualifying examination.

Annamalai University B.Ed Course Details

  • The two-year program is conducted in the annual mode and has two prominent components: Theory and Practicum.

Ques. How are B.Ed. students evaluated at Annamalai University?

Ans. At Annamalai University, B.Ed. students are evaluated through continuous Internal Assessments and year-end external examinations. The former carries 25 marks for each theory paper, while the latter carries 75 marks each. The minimum passing marks in the external examination is 45%. Internal Assessments comprises Test, Assignment, Activities, and marks for attendance.

Ques. How are B.Ed. students graded at Annamalai University?

Ans. B.Ed. students at Annamalai University are marked with Grade Points, on both theory and practical courses. Students should secure at least 50% of the total marks, i.e. 100, in each theory paper taking together both internal assessment and external examination scores.

Ques. How long is the School Internship in the B.Ed. program at Annamalai University?

Ans. B.Ed. students at Annamalai University have to undergo School Internship in both the first and second years. The internship should be in government-recognized schools, under public or private ownership, located 50 km radius of the University campus.

The first-year internship is of 4-weeks with 1-week of school engagement and 3-weeks of field visits to various resource centers. The second-year internship is of the 16-week duration of which 15-weeks must be spent in actual classroom teaching.
