Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Automobile Engineering) From AKTU, Lucknow

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Automobile Engineering is an undergraduate engineering degree. Students passed in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects are eligible to take admission in this course. The duration of the course is four years. Admission in most of the colleges is done through various entrance tests conducted at national and state level.

B.Tech program in Automobile engineering deals with the study of various engines and their construction, electrical systems, alternate fuels, safety, economics and quality of an automobile.  The Automobile Engineering graduates are placed in organizations specializing in products and services related to automobile industry, software solutions, product and technology like Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Daimler India Ltd, Honda, and Tata Consultancy Services. According to PayScale India, an automobile engineer can earn anywhere between Rs. 250,000 and Rs. 600,000 per annum average salary package.  

Candidates must have considerable understanding and interest in mechanics, electronics, and mathematics as these are vital skills required for making a good growth in Automobile Engineering.

What is Automobile Engineering?

Automobile Engineering is the sub branch of Mechanical Engineering, also known as automotive engineering or vehicle engineering. The automobile industry includes automobiles and auto components sectors.

The Automobile engineering course caters to the creation and maintenance of automobiles, right from designing the vehicles to manufacturing components, assembling them, testing them for safety, repairing and maintaining. Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Automobile engineering is the best option to get specialized in this course. Students can take GATE for taking admission in this course. Ph.D. is another option for higher studies. Students can also opt for MBA course, which will take them to the managerial level in their career which is most promising career option nowadays. 

Admission to B. Tech. First Year through Entrance Examination:

• Candidates who have passed Intermediate of U.P. Board or (10+2) standard from other board with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/ Biology are eligible for admission to first year of 4 year B.Tech. Courses offered by Colleges/Institutions of U.P. affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow.
• Candidates who have passed Intermediate of U.P. Board or (10+2) standard from other board with Agriculture are only eligible for admission to first year of 4 year B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering) offered by Colleges/Institutions of U.P. affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow.
