B. Tech in Electronics Engineering is an undergraduate course in engineering of 4 years duration. The curriculum of the course is set in such a way that will help the students to understand the importance and different aspects of Electronics Engineering. Average tution fee for this course ranges between 2 lakh to 5 lakh and it may vary depending on type of colleges offering this course.
The basic eligibility for this course is 10+2 with PCM as compulsory subjects. Admission in most of the colleges is done through various entrance tests conducted at national and state level.
After completing this course, students can get jobs as electrical engineer, projectmanager, design engineeretc. In India, a B.Tech Electronics fresher can get the salary offerof 2.5 lakh per annum upto 5 lakh per annumin top companies like Tata, BHEL, NTPC, GAIL and many others, while in foreign countries the average salary of an Electrical Engineer is about $68000 per annum.
An Electronic Engineer learns to design, develop and maintain the electronic circuits, devices and computer control systems.Along with practical knowledge the course teaches a student the basic business skills, marketing techniques to make him/her successful in business.
The topics which are covered in this course mainly includes Computer programming, Electronic device applications, Network analysis, Technical mathematics and more which are essential for an electronic graduate.
If someone loves to play with electronic devices and have a curious mind about the working of electronic circuits then this is the right course for that person to opt for as through this course only he/she can get answers to all the questions about everything which is electronic.
The course duration is 4 years which are further divided in 8 semesters in all the institutes. Some universities offer annual system in which there are three annual terms i.e. the students have to give exams only once a year. Maximum time given to complete this course is 7 years in most of the universities.
Once a student is done with B. Tech he/she can go for post-graduation degree like MSc/ M. Tech/ PhD or an Engineering Doctorate (EngD). There are many colleges which offer master’s degree in Electronics.
