IIIT Hyderabad and IIIT Ahmedabad are the best IIITs and have similar ages. IIIT Hyderabad fairs are better than IIIT Ahmedabad in terms of its coding culture and the kind of job opportunities it provides.

IIIT Hyderabad students must work extra hard and wake up very early for PT. The institute has a record of attracting a better crowd because a lot accepts only top rankers of JEE Main. One of the drawbacks of the institute is that it’s private and therefore charges hefty fees while IIIT Ahmedabad is a government college so it charges lesser fees.

IIIT Ahmedabad has a bit flexible campus life quite similar to other government colleges like IIT and NITs. Additionally, it also has a rich coding culture with amazing job opportunities.

I don’t find any major differences in the curriculum, campus life, and placement scenario of both the institutes so choose the one that aligns with your preferences. As for choosing one between IIIT Allahabad and NIT Rourkela, go for the former without any second thoughts. IIITs are best suited for coding lovers and people passionate about computers. So if you are one of them, go for any IIIT between these two!

One of my friends told a story of IIIT Allahabad. It was in his 7th semester when this took place. We were just done with the farewell. He was presenting his end-semester project, and a batchmate called him and told him that there was a surprise check in the hostel. A friend wanted him to come to the hostel immediately.

He hurried up his presentation and ran to the hostel. When he reached, Karan and Raif were in the warden's room. He entered and Virender lined up 5-6 liquor bottles on the table. He pointed to 2-3 bottles kept on the floor and told them that they found this and the 5-6 bottles in his room. He also found a bucket that was filled with green water and some green matter on the top. The table was black from the ash, and the floor was littered with cigarette buds.

He goes on to lecture them about cleanliness and how he wanted them out of the hostel. This resulted in begging and pleading. Karan got pissed and started lashing out at Virender on how the cleaning guy is careless. My friend and Raif somehow stopped his yelling and got back to begging. It was their final month anyway since they had to go to their internships.

He finally relents and gives them an hour or something to clean everything up. So they go upstairs and start the cleaning themselves. He was using a broom and cleaning everything, carelessly. Karan yelled why are you using broom like that (using curse words), and at that moment another batchmate walked in who incidentally was nicknamed 'broom' and got offended and started using curse words as well.

The situation was hilarious and was one of the craziest moments we witnessed in IIIT Allahabad.

Which is better: IIIT Allahabad or IIIT Delhi?

IIIT Allahabad is better than IIIT Delhi. It offers great academics in IT and has an extremely competitive campus environment. Students of the institute dominate almost every major coding platform. Over the years IIIT Allahabad students made their presence felt in competitive coding events such as GSoC, ACM ICPC, and Google Code Jam.

IIIT Allahabad ECE is the best among these. It has a better course structure. The infrastructure and facilities are better as well.

IIIT Allahabad has one of the best coding cultures in the country. Even as a student of ECE, you can learn to code and have decent placement opportunities in the IT sector.

IIIIT Allahabad ECE average package is INR 12.5 LPA. More than 85% of students of the branch get offers from dream companies. ECE MNC companies such as Qualcomm visit the campus placements.

What is the college timing of NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, MNNIT Allahabad, IIIT Allahabad?

I have only knowledge about MNIT Allahabad and IT Surathkal as I have a few friends there.

MNNIT Allahabad

Classes are held Monday to Friday. Saturday & Sunday is off.
It depends on the branch you are studying as well as the year.
In the first year, students of every branch study together and the timings are usually 9 am to 5 pm approximately 30 hours a week.
In the 2nd and the 3rd year, students usually have 40 hours a week. Timings for Mechanical and other core branches are 8 am to 6 pm while S/IT students don't have many classes as the curriculum mostly comprises coding so they have 25-30 hours a week
In the final year, classes are held very rarely and students spend most of their time on projects. The classes usually last for 12-15 hours a week.

In all, the first and the last year at MNIT Allahabad are relatively free so you can enjoy your life to the fullest.

NIT Surathkal:

NIT Surathkal has no classes on Saturdays.
In the first year classes take place 23 hours a week and the timings depend on individual sections between 8 am and 5 pm. The students can set their own schedule at their convenience with the assistance of the student class representative.
From the second year, the timings and duration of classes depend on the branch you have chosen. Usually, Mining has about 20 hours per week, CSE and ECE have around 25-28 hours per week while branches like Mechanical have up to 35 hours per week.
