IIIT Allahabad Placements 2022: Average Package: INR 19.57 LPA & Highest Package: INR 1.4 CPA

Yes, any M.Tech person who is looking for placement is going to find one. Any person with an M.Tech background is pretty easily placed in brilliant companies like Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, 1mg, Flipkart, Amazon, Daily Hunt, Razorpay, Swiggy, Phillips, etc. In case you are curious even in the least bit about your CTC, you need not worry as the highest CTC went up to 34 LPA. This was grabbed by people with an M.Tech background. 

Also, you will have better chances if you have great coding skills and knowledge concerning all your technical subjects. This can help you get placed pretty easily in any of these brilliant companies mentioned above. 

Having said that, you should also keep in mind that there are companies that reject people with an M.Tech background. NITs or IITs too, do not always accept people with an M.Tech background. 

Nevertheless, you would come across heaps of opportunities where you can showcase your skills and impress the panel. 

Some of my friends studying at IIIT Allahabad mentioned that even though it is not a rule, there is still an unspoken pact that no one should disclose their placement details. At IIITA students are advised to not openly disclose their placement details which include the name of the company, the CTC and other important details about the job.

IIITA receives placement offers from a very diverse and significantly larger group of companies. The software and ITES sector have the highest volume of recruitment throughout these years. 

Since the institute hasn’t released the official placement statistics for the Final Placement of 2020, the following statistics have been observed until now:

Placements at IIIT are commendable as per the stats. If you have the talent and academic potential, you can secure a good placement offer from any reputed companies. A package of above 40 LPA is achievable if you are good in academics and if you can present yourself well during the placement interview.

Since my brother studied M.Tech from IIIT Allahabad, I will be able to answer your question about the placement possibilities of MTech in Intelligent Systems. 

First of all there are two big advantages of enrolling in this branch :

1. You will get the opportunity to learn great stuff from some of the finest professors.
2. You will get a Chance to sit in almost every company you have ever heard of Google (off campus via APAC), such as Microsoft etc.

Intelligence system of college: The Intelligent system is all about how you develop the intelligence of a machine. It includes machine learning that ultimately teaches the ability to learn about a machine, say object recognition, human pose recognition, etc.

Placements:

Basic placement requirements you need to focus upon are as follows:

1. In almost every company that visits the campus, you will be given a chance to sit and try your luck.
2. To sit for the placements, you'll have to compete with the B.tech crowd. And everyone here is very studious and competitive, so it won’t be easy for you at all.
3. Companies do not come to a particular branch (rarely happens, like 1 out of 80 companies)
4. Recruiters don't care about your branch, they just want to know how qualified you are in the field of interest and coding.

For all the big firms, the skills you'll learn by following your stream will be applicable and act as an important factor in your selection process. So know your skills and capabilities in respective fields and then go for interviews.

First of all, preparing for placements is a continuous process. You should never make this mistake to pile up things for the last moment. You should start preparing by brushing up your existing knowledge from the initial days only. In the final month of placement, you should only revise the concepts both basics and advanced. Here are some of the resources that you can follow for your preparation. 

• InterviewBit: It’s a very useful website that may help you in practicing coding. You will get a good idea about the standard of questions that the companies ask.
• GeeksforGeeks: For data structure, the best source to study is geeks for geeks. It’s a complete portal for CS/IT students. You can also refer to books such as Introduction to Algorithms” by Charles E. Leiserson, Clifford Stein, Ronald Rivest, and Thomas H. Cormen.
• For Operating Systems, books like “Operating System Concepts” by Abraham Silberschatz, Peter B. Galvin, and Greg Gange. Modern Operating Systems by Andrew S. Tanenbaum is good.
• For Databases again the NPTEL course by Prof. D. Jankiram of IIT Madras is very promising. For short notes, you can refer to GeeksforGeeks.
• SQL queries can be learned from GeeksforGeeks and can be practiced on Hackerrank.
• For Networking, basic knowledge is required. “Computer Networks: A Systems Approach” by Larry L. Peterson will be helpful for you.

You can go through two websites, i.e. GeeksforGeeks and Glassdoor to learn about interview experiences. 

One of my friends was a 7 pointer and he got offers from top MNCs even before completing his graduation. You don’t have to worry much about pointer and placement, as there is no straight relation between them. What matters the most is getting a good CGPA. There are several top 5 companies that will shortlist you on the basis of your knowledge. If placement is not important to you, then try to score a good CGPA, which is not tough to get in IIIT Allahabad. It will be useful if you are thinking of going for higher studies.

Therefore, keep the placement worry side and focus on your study. However, having a good CGPA will not guarantee your placement. But will definitely help you in your career.

When speaking in terms of placement records, IIIT Allahabad is known only for B.Tech. However, M.Tech at the same institution tends to not get great offers. In fact, most companies do not permit M.Tech students from IIITA to sit for specific interviews. 

Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Hashedin, Morgan Stanley didn’t allow M.Tech students to sit for the interviews one particular year. That is one reason behind why IIIT, Allahabad does not make the placement stats clearly open in a branch-specific manner.

You, as a student, should prefer M.Tech at NIT Nagpur. Mentioned below are the statistics of M.Tech placements of VNIT Nagpur. 

It is important to note that MTech IT (i.e., Intelligent Systems) is very well known at IIITA. If you are choosing to do Intelligent Systems at IIITA, then you will not regret that decision. You definitely will have the chance to sit for every company interview. However, if you do not get Intelligent Systems, then opting to go for NIT Nagpur is highly recommended.

In terms of placement, the preference order of branches are as briefed below:

Intelligent systems, IIITA> CSE, VNIT Nagpur> Advanced computing, NIT Bhopal> Information security, NIT Bhopal> Human-computer interaction, IIITA> Cyber Law IIITA> Software Engineering IIITA> Wireless communication IIITA.

As per the institute’s policy, one cannot share or guarantee if the figure of placement packages is correct or not as the placement cell of the institute also doesn't share any such stats once the session gets over. Though, with the help of other peers, it is quite possible to calculate the average CTC that has been offered in a session. Many top recruiters visit the campus every year.

To be very honest, it is not a tough task to get a high-paying job in a top IT company if you have completed your B.Tech from IIIT-Allahabad. But to get that, you have to start preparing yourself from the first year only. The college has a good coding culture and getting a job in a top IT company is a cakewalk for you if you have studied religiously. Many of the alumni are also out there who help a lot in getting a good job.
