About Jigyasa University (Formerly Himgiri Zee University)
Jigyasa University (Formerly Himgiri Zee University) into existence in 2003 with the motive of preparing trained human resources for the industry in several sectors like social, educational, scientific, technical, and professional organizations for social and economic development. Jigyasa University (formerly Himgiri Zee University), Dehradun has been established by the Essel Group under The Uttarakhand Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act No. 05 , 2024), recognized by UGC Under Section 2(f) of 1956 Act and Member of Association of Indian Universities. Further, School of legal studies is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), School of Pharmaceutical Sciences is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and B.Ed. Program is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Jigyasa University (formerly Himgiri Zee University) is the only university in Dehradun in collaboration with Rekhi Foundation and the only university to have Swimming Pool with separate timings for boys and girls. It offers good placement opportunities with over 80% placement rate and it also offers 100% scholarship to its students.

School of forestry, agriculture, and fisheries include eight courses that are B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. School of architecture, engineering, and sciences include nine different courses - B.Tech, B.Arch., M.Tech, Ph.D. School of clinical research, pharmaceutical and healthcare sciences deals with seven courses. Jigyasa University has its own regulations when it comes to the admission process. As the college offers various courses and has vast academic opportunities for the candidates, so does their admission procedure. Each course follows its organized structure.
- The undergraduate architecture course requires the candidate to appear in NATA before filling the admission form.
- The rest of the undergraduate courses require the candidate to pass their 10+2 with required specialized subjects, mentioned in the eligibility criteria in the prospectus.
- Whereas when it comes to the postgraduate courses, candidates should have appeared for the undergraduate examination and passed with valid scores.
