Aliah University, formerly known as Mohammedan College of Calcutta, is an autonomous minority university located in New Town, Kolkata. The institution was conferred with university status in the year 2008. The university presently offers multiple modern day professional undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Arts, Engineering, Science, and Management streams.
- Admission to most of the programs offered at Aliah University is through Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT) except B.Ed., M.Tech and PhD programs. AUAT is an online entrance test conducted by Aliah University.
- Candidates applying for B.Tech program are required to submit WBJEE exam score or appear for the AUAT entrance exam.
- M.Tech admissions are based on GATE exam score.
- Admission to B.Ed examination is based on merits in the previous qualifying examination and AUAT entrance exam score.

For simplification of the all the admission modalities, the university has divided the courses into 5 Groups. AUAT is divided into two parts i.e. Part A and Part B. Part – A is common to all the groups while Part – B is different for each group of courses.

The min. eligibility for B.Tech is, the candidate must have passed Class 12th in PCM with min. 60% marks in the aggregate subjects. Aliah University PG Admissions 2023- MA, M.Sc., LLM and MJMC
For MA, M. A/M.Sc. in Geography & MA/M. Sc. in MJMC; LLM, MA in Urdu; MM/MA in Theology & M. Sc. in Statistics & Informatics or 2-year M.Sc. in Mathematics:
- Candidates who have passed the final examination of any three-year degree program with min. required marks in concerned Honours/Major subject from any recognised University may apply
- Candidates who have passed Part I & Part II exams or equivalent grade taken together in respective Honours/Major subjects from any recognized University are also eligible to appear for AUAT ; however, their admission will be cancelled if they fail to secure an aggregate of 40% marks in the Part III/Final Examination
For LLM.
The candidate must have passed 3-year LLB or Integrated 5-year LLB with at least 45% marks in aggregate for being eligible to apply under LLM.
The selection for all the courses will be based on the Entrance test conducted by Alia University under AUAT.

The University offers 5-year Integrated program of BBA+MBA. The min. eligibility for the candidate so apply is, he must have passed Class 12th with min. 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English subject. The selection will be made on the basis of merit in AUAT exam.

Aliah University Ph.D Admission 2023
Aliah University offers Ph.D programme in various streams such as Engineering, Science, Humanities, Social Science & Religious studies. The University also offers D.Litt. in Humanities, Social Science & Religious Studies & D.Sc in Science & Engineering. D.Litt. & D.Sc degrees are considered above the Ph.D degree. These degrees are awarded on the basis of candidate’s research aptitude & number of publications.
The University invites application twice in a year in the month of April-May & October-November. Candidates can apply for any of the Regular full time, Full time Sponsored, Part time self-sponsored (internal) or Part time self-sponsored (External) categories.

Selection Process: Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in departmental admission test conducted by the concerned Departmental Research Committee (DRC) followed by an interview. Final admission will be granted on the basis of following factors:

Requirements for the award of Ph.D Degree:
Ph.D degree will be awarded on the basis of student’s performance in prescribed course work & seminar followed by final thesis submission & viva-voce.

- Fill all the details correctly stating which course you want to enroll in, uploading the scanned photograph and signature, followed by choosing of the center where you want to give the exam of AUAT.
- Students filling the Online Application can pay the application fee through online payment mode (Debit Card/Credit Card).
- Click on submit.
- After the candidate has successfully cleared the AUATexam and has got his name in the merit list then he is required to fill the form for the Online Counselling by visiting the University Counselling portal by making a payment of registration fees through Online portal.
