The eligibility criteria of MA program is as mentioned below:

• To get admission to the MA program at Kalyani University, the student should have completed graduation from a recognized University.
• Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern.
• The applicants must have at least 50% in their graduation.
• The applicants must have passed graduation in their respective specialization subject.
• Priority is given to home university students.

Kalyani University MA Course Details

MA is a master's course provided by the university. The course has the duration of 2 years and follows a semester system. The various specializations of MA program is as follows:

Course structure

• Core courses: These are the compulsory components of an academic programme.
• Elective courses are to be selected by the students from several courses. Elective courses are of two types: Discipline specific elective course and Generic elective course.

• Ability enhancement course: These courses are interdisciplinary in nature. The courses are of 2 credits each. 
• Each and every student is required to register for the course they want to study in a semester.

• Withdrawal and change from an Elective or an ‘Ability Enhancement Course will only be permitted up to one week from the date of commencement of classes.

Attendance and Examination

• A student should have at least 75% attendance to be allowed for the exam.
• Examination and evaluation is done on a continuous basis, at least three times during each semester.

• The examination of all the courses has 2 parts: In-Semester Assessment and End Semester Examinations
• 40% of the total marks of each Course shall be allotted for in-semester evaluations or internal assessment.
