CMR University PhD Course

CMR University provides research and doctoral programs in various disciplines. The minimum duration of PhD program is 3 years. CMR University offers PhD program in both full time and part time mode with different specializations. CMRU PhD specializations are as follows:

CMR University PhD Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should have a post-graduation/ master’s degree from any recognized University in India or abroad, recognized by the Equivalence Committee of CMR University. The CMR University recognizes CA from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and CMA from The Institute of Cost Accountants of India for the purpose of registering for Ph.D. in Commerce and Allied discipline.

For admission in Engineering & Technology and Management disciplines, the applicant should have a minimum of 60% in aggregate for the general category and 55% for SC/ST category, or equivalent CGPA.
For other disciplines, you should have a minimum of 55% of marks in aggregate for the general category and 50% for SC/ST category, or equivalent CGPA (except in engineering and management subjects).

CMR University PhD Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Test followed by a Personal Interview. The final results will be released after the consolidation of marks obtained in the postgraduate examination, entrance examination, and personal interview.

Entrance Test:

The examination consists of two papers. Paper 1 is General Aptitude & Research Methodology and Paper 2 is a domain-specific subject as studied at the postgraduate level. Both papers consist of 60 multiple-choice questions and the time allotted for each paper will be one hour.

Exemptions: Candidates with the following qualifications are exempted from giving the entrance exam.

UGC NET/CSIR NET (JRF), SET/SLET, GATE or any other examination considered equivalent by AIU; or
M. Phil Degree from a recognized University as per UGC regulations, 2009

Personal Interview:

Those candidates who got shortlisted in the Entrance Exam will be called for Interview by the Research Admission Committee.

There is a common application form for both full-time and part-time Ph.D. programs. Follow the below mentioned steps:

Pay the application fee of INR 1500 in cash at the admission office.

What is the fees structure for mca through pgcet in cmr university

At present, CMR University charges a total of 2 lakhs per year as course fee for MCA.

To be honest, CMR University is good for engineering courses, but it is just average for an MCA. Around 60-70% MCA students are offered placements, but a good number of companies visit the campus for recruitments.

Some of the remaining students are the ones with backlog(s). The highest package is around 20 LPA, and the lowest is around 3.75 LPA. Amazon, Mercedes, Kochi, Samsung, Cognizant, EY, etc. visit for recruitments. Most of them offer full stack software development roles.

The campus is not fully covered with Wifi. The library is not very large, and the canteen stalls offer very limited meal options. The stalls become heavily crowded during breaks, but the quality of food is good. Internals are conducted every month, but the curriculum and faculty are both good.

Overall, CMR is a decent option for an MCA. But you should also consider other better colleges for this degree.
