  • The MA in Economics is a terminal master’s program that equips its graduates with the advanced knowledge and quantitative skills required for an economic analyst in the business world, the consulting industry, a central bank, or government. 
  • The training provides a thorough understanding of fundamental economic principles, the application of mathematical methods and modeling, and the use of computer software for large-scale data analysis.
  •  It is accomplished through the economics core (four courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics, and econometrics) and four elective courses.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Higher Secondary Certificate/ISC (State board exams may also be considered for admission).
  • Students must complete a bachelor’s degree in economics, economics, and mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Students required an average grade of 3.0. (83 to 86% or B grade).
  • Students are expected to have passed some advanced undergraduate preparation in economics that includes one year of intermediate macro-and microeconomic analysis and courses in statistics, calculus, and linear algebra.
  • Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

Course Curriculum

For students with no experience with Economics, the content is good. Students with some background in Econ may find some of it redundant. However, it might still be a good degree if you looking for job opportunities in the US. Research opportunities are available through the RA mentorship program. The alumni network is good which is useful in job-hunting.
