The Master of Science(M.Sc) in Data Science at Northeastern University is an interdisciplinary program, offered jointly by the Khoury College of Computer Sciences and the College of Engineering, which will provide you with extensive knowledge in mathematics, computing, and data engineering, enabling you to advance your career in the field of data science. The program is on a full-time or part-time basis.
Northeastern University’s Ms in data science program enables students to develop depth in computational modeling, data collection and integration, data storage and retrieval, data processing, modeling and analytics, and visualization. Students apply their skills to manipulate, store, visualize, and analyze data in any industry.
This course gives you a full spectrum of exciting co-op, research, and internship opportunities, you’ll gain even more real-world experience to help you emerge from your studies prepared for whatever and wherever data leads you next.
Graduate students typically have an experiential work opportunity following their second semester. This could be a 6- to 8-month co-op or a 3- to 4-month internship.

Graduation	Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized University. A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, 8.0 on a 10.0 scale, 80 on a 100 scale is required. Applicants must hold a technical or mathematics background. Applicants must either complete two introductory courses at Northeastern or complete two placement exams administered one week prior to the beginning of the semester. The two exams cover the fundamentals of computer science and programming skills and basic statistics, probability, and linear algebra. This admission requirement can also be fulfilled by the successful completion of Introduction to Programming for Data Science (DS 5010) and Introduction to Linear Algebra and Probability for Data Science (DS 5020). Although the introductory courses do not count towards the degree credits, they are still factored into the student's cumulative grade point average.
