Delta State redesigned an educational leadership program in the 90?s for training school principals. In 1998, the first Educational Leadership Cohort at Delta State began with 15 candidates. To date, over 140 students have been trained to continue on to careers like superintendent, principal, and district level administrative personnel.

Cohort members complete a 13 month full-time program. the program consists of 39 credit hours towards a Master?s or Specialist?s Degree in Educational Leadership, with a variety of significant field experiences and practica integrated with classes held on campus.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

  • Applicants must have completed bachelors degree from an accredited university
  • Applicants should submit official transcripts of all previous coursework completed
  • Applicants must have a minimum 3.25 GPA or equivalent
  • Official transcripts need to be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency like ECE or WES
  • Applicants must have three years of school related work experience
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from current school administrator
  • Submit passing score on Praxis core writing test
  • Submit a copy of valid educators license
  • Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

English Language Requirements:

  • TOEFL: minimum 70 in ibt; 525 in PBT; 196 in CBT
  • IELTS: minimum 6
  • Duolingo: minimum 110
