Campus of the University of South Dakota
The main, sprawling campus, Vermillion Campus of the University of South Dakota, has a number of administrative as well as academic buildings. Located away from the main campus, are 3 off-campus centres of the University of South Dakota: The USD Community College for Sioux Falls; Pierre, Capital University Centre and University Centre - Rapid City.
The Sanford Coyote Sports Complex of the main campus houses, science, health and research laboratories as well as basketball and volleyball courts, track, field and soccer facilities. There are numerous restaurants, food courts and eateries on campus. The campus also has its own chapel.
Students can participate in any of the over 120 campus clubs and organizations. There are a number of services on campus for students such as Disability services, military and veteran services, native American student services, a bookstore on campus and a child care centre.
Residential Facilities at University of South Dakota
Students at the University of South Dakota have a varied range of housing options to choose from. Freshmen are required to live on-campus for the first two years of their program duration. There is a range of housing options to choose from:
- North Complex Housing consists of 4 furnished halls (Beede, Mickelson, Richardson and Olson Halls), with a capacity of accommodating 1,444 students, both single-gender and co-ed. These are equipped with kitchens and laundry facilities.
- Coyote Village is a complex, offering suite and apartment-style units to 546 students. Its facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, convenience store, central laundry facility and a 15 seat HD theatre along with a smart classroom.
- The Burgess and Norton complex offers double-occupancy rooms and accommodates 293 students.
- Brookman Hall offers both single and double occupancy rooms to co-ed as well as single-gender students.
- McFadden Hall consists of 4 bedroom apartments with laundry facilities, a community kitchen and a living area for 100 students. Parking spaces are available at this hall, at an additional cost.
Students in residence halls must choose a meal plan from the wide range of options available.
University of South Dakota Programs
With 202 undergraduate and 78 graduate-level programs to choose from at the University of South Dakota (USD), it has its own Law, Medicine and Business Schools as well as Colleges of Arts & Sciences, Education, Fine Arts, Health Sciences. The university offers a complete range of online graduate and undergraduate programs, taught by the regular faculty members themselves.

Application Process of University of South Dakota
International students applying to the University of South Dakota, are required to adhere to the specific application rules laid down specifically for them. These are explained further in this section.
Application Portal: An online application must be submitted before the deadline. Students must send in all official transcripts at least 30 days before classes are scheduled to begin, in order to be granted unconditional full admission. Students submitting unofficial and unofficial partial transcripts may be considered for conditional admission.
Application Fee: Students need to complete the online application form and pay a non-refundable application fee of 20 USD via credit card.
Intake Season: Applications are accepted for fall and spring semester.
Admission Requirements: A valid passport; Completed financial ability form and demonstrate financial capacity to meet the expenses of at least one year of study at USD; All hard copies required, must be mailed to the Enrolment Processing Centre of the university.
English Proficiency Requirement: International students, whose native language is not English, are required to submit TOEFL or IELTS score as evidence of English proficiency. Native English speakers with a minimum CGPA of 2.6 and official ACT/SAT test scores are exempt from submitting separate English test scores.

Financial Assistance for International Students
All international students get automatically considered for a scholarship award of up to 3500 USD each year when they apply for admission to the University of South Dakota programs. No separate application is required for scholarships. However, the main application of a program must be completed, with all the required documents.
Following kinds of scholarships are available to international students:
- The Presidential Alumni Scholarship: This is open to high school seniors with an ACT score of at least 27/an SAT score of at least 1210.
