I knew UBC from my parent's friend. They said UBC is one of the top universities in Canada with a beautiful campus. That was the original motivation for me to apply to this university. Besides, this university was the best university that I can apply to according to my grades.
Course Curriculum
Most of my courses are related to my major. So I register for many psychology courses. I also take commerce courses as my minor degree. For elective courses, I took sociology and Asian studies. I am pretty interested in sociology and I participated in sociology research.
Exams
My score: IELTS 6.5, national university exam scored about the first class degree line. Class minimum score: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 110, National University Exam above the first class degree
Placement
To be honest I know little about this question. Frankly speaking, there are fewer job opportunities for art students in the current job market. I did not pay attention to the alumni networking in my faculty so I have very limited knowledge about this topic.
Events
There are many clubs on campus and AMS organizes many events for students. UBC has many libraries on campus so it is easy to reach academic resources. And it is easy to find a study place on campus. There are study rooms in libraries and there are many coffee shops on campus. So students can choose their favorite places. WiFi speed is fast and sports facilities are well-instructed. There are all types of sports facilities on campus.
Scholarship
No, I didn't get any scholarship.
Faculty
I am in the faculty of Arts. I think my faculty does a pretty good job for students. The professors and staff are friendly. It is easy to reach resources from them. Arts advisor Shane Cambell helps me a lot with my academic and course decisions.
Hostel
Yes, I live on campus and my rent fee is about 950 a month with a shared-four bedroom. The dorm is pretty well decorated with all types of furniture and a full-function kitchen area.
