I went to a different university first where I graduated with a diploma in kinesiology. I applied to transfer all my credits to UBC to continue and receive a degree for completing two more years. I wanted to live in British Columbia. They are known for having a good kinesiology program.
Course Curriculum
I think the information and research that we are presented with are current and accurate. Most of the time we are encouraged to read the articles the information is coming from. I think the curriculum is organized and strong in all the kinesiology courses I am currently in.
Faculty
For the most part, I have had a very positive and professional experience with the faculty at UBC. They are knowledgeable and good teachers that genuinely want to see you succeed.
Accommodation
Fees
A few weeks before each semester starts tuition fees are due. If you receive a student loan that has not been deposited into your account yet or pays your tuition automatically there is about a month long extension period where no late fees are added. When you first get accepted there is a $500 deposit to hold your spot in the program you have been accepted into. Other expenses include textbooks and if you live on residence (I do not) then there is a deposit and payments for that too.
Examination Structure
At the end of the semester, we have a 3 week exam period. Exams can be up to 3 hours in length and can be on any day. Some students had multiple exams on 1 day. Each exam is structured differently. Some have multiple choice, short answer, long answer/essay question and fill in the blanks. They differ depending on the course.
