Course Curriculum
The engineering course at UBC is great and provides you with a lot of opportunities throughout the year. It is getting better day by day and is in the top 3 programs in Canada. UBC also has the most number of engineering student design teams in Canada.
Faculty
Most professors are experienced and teach well. They know their material and ensure that students get what they need in terms of resources available. However, there might be some who have the knowledge but do not effectively deliver classes.
Placement
Students can apply for co-op if it is applicable to them through which work terms can be obtained.
Accommodation
Yes. In my first year, I had a single room for myself with a shared common bathroom. Residences can be single-gendered or coed and there are 3 main residences for first-year students. Housing in Vancouver is generally expensive and I had to pay around 12,000 for my room rent and meal plan for the first year.
Exams
For my application, I had to submit a personal profile online consisting of my details and essay type answers to a few questions asked. Expect about 5-10 questions and if answered well, it will definitely improve the overall admission score.
Events
UBC's Vancouver campus is the most beautiful campus in Canada. The pictures speak for themselves. It is the most international university in North America with students from numerous countries and backgrounds. It is extremely diverse in terms of people, activities, and events. There are many libraries on campus with study spots and the campus has the most number of student residences. It's also known for its recreational activities and varsity teams.
