St. Stephen’s University is the smallest university in Canada, offering a total of nine-degree programs. Currently, SSU undergraduate programs are available in Arts in Humanities, Psychology, and Community Engagement. At the PG level, the institution is offering just two courses in Theology & Culture. Recently the university has also started a “ School of Contemplation” for students who are interested in learning about ancient and contemporary practices. The university has 400+ graduate students with 1/3 graduates going on to further studies.

SSU offers a limited intake each year and accepts students on a first-come-first accepted basis. Applicants must apply using the online application portal along with an application fee of 120 CAD. St. Stephens University Campus

St. Stephens University is the smallest university located by the international border between St. Stephen, New Brunswick and Calais, Maine. The campus is home to a historic Park Hall built by a shipbuilder. The campus of SSU is easily accessible from Saint John, Fredericton, and Bangor airports.

The university consists of three communities that consist of current students, alumni and seniors. Recently, it has also started a School of Contemplation to find a healthy rhythm of life. SSU hosts several events every year including a 3-day winter festival, Christmas banquet, convocation celebrations, family day, etc.

Accommodations 

St. Stephen's University believes in a community environment and promotes students to live as a cohesive unit. The residence rooms are located in the Park Hall on the campus. SSU provides accommodation via billets within the community. Some students may be required to stay in other lodgings such as an Airbnb if the university is unable to accommodate everyone via billets.

  • First-year students are required to live on-campus. While the upper-class students have the option to live off-campus, Students can choose between single rooms or shared double rooms.

Work-Study

As per Canada Immigration rules and regulations international students can work on campus and off-campus for 20 hours per week if their study permit lists the work-study condition. Students who are enrolled on full-time post-secondary, vocational or professional training programs can work during their studies.
