Delhi College of Arts & Commerce (DCAC) Admissions 2023 is based on Common University Entrance Test(CUET) scores conducted by NTA followed by Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). For all UG programs offered by the institute, candidates need to appear for CUET UG. After the CUET results are out, Candidates are required to register themselves on Delhi University's admission portal - admission.uod.ac.in. After registering, one needs to fill in the preferences for colleges and programs. Seat Allocation will be done through Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS).

DCAC has 50% of the total seats reserved for students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD category.

DCAC UG Admission 2023

DCAC offers 5 UG courses in Science, Arts and Commerce departments. The basic criteria for admission into the UG programme is now based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), followed by e-counseling. 

DCAC UG Eligibility Criteria

The courses, their specializations along with the subjects required for CUET examinations are mentioned below:

BA (Hons) Journalism Candidates can choose from combination I: English from List A + Any two subjects from List B1 + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2 or combination II: English from List A + SECTION III of CUET (General Test) Candidates need to have 10th and 12th class or equivalent to that, with English as a subject and 45 percent marks in total. Mass Media is treated as an academic subject for this programme.
BA (Hons) Political Science Any one Language from List A with any two subjects from List B1 and any one subject from either List B1 or List B2 Candidates must have completed 10th and 12th class with a minimum of 45 percent marks in total

B.Com (Hons) Candidates can choose from combination I: Any one Language from List A + Mathematics + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1 or Combination II: Any one Language from List A + Accountancy + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1 Candidates need to have 10th and 12th class or equivalent to that with Mathematics/ Business Mathematics/ Accountancy/ Economics and Business Studies/ Commerce or other related subjects and 45 percent marks in total. 
BA Candidates can choose from combination I: Any one Language from List A + Any two subjects from List B1 + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2 or combination II: Any one language from List A + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2 + SECTION III of CUET (General Test) Candidates need to have 10th and 12th class or equivalent to that with 40 percent marks in total.
B.Com Candidates can choose from combination I: Any one Language from List A + Any two subjects from List B1 + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2 or combination II: Any one Language from List A + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2 + SECTION III of CUET (General Test) Candidates need to have 10th and 12th class or equivalent to that with 40 percent marks in total.

DCAC UG Selection Process

Selection to UG courses is based on the CUET examinations conducted by the university followed by e-counselling rounds. Those candidates who qualify in their CUET examinations will be required to enroll for e-counselling. Candidates will then be able to choose which college they wish to attend through the two rounds of e-counselling. 

Furthermore, CUET examinations are divided into three sections:

  • Section 1 Languages: this further contains two sections, ‘A’ and ‘B’. Section ‘A’ contains 13 languages such as Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, etc. Section ‘B’ contains 20 languages such as French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, etc. For admission candidates must at least appear in one language. 
  • Section 2 Domain Specific: There are 27 domain specific subjects in this section. Candidates are required to refer to the program specific eligibility criteria in order to select domain specific subjects. 
  • Section 3 General Test: General test for any UG programme offered by the university where the general test is being used for admission. Candidates must refer to the program specific eligibility criteria for selecting general tests.

DCAC UG Application Process

Admission dates are declared by the Delhi University. The university opens a common UG application portal where candidates can submit their applications.

  • Candidates have to register themselves on the common application portal 
  • After the registration, candidates can begin to fill the Online Application Form using their credentials 
  • Candidates must fill the Online Application Form with care as they will not be able to make any changes in the future. 
  • Candidates are advised to carefully select the college and courses they want to opt for UG programmes. 
  • Candidates need to attach certain documents while submitting the form such as photograph, signature, identity proof, etc. 
  • Candidates need to pay the application fee at the time of submitting the form or else the Online Application Form will not be considered. 
  • Candidates can login to their portals for any new updates, college cutoffs and so forth.
  • Candidates who are accepted must report to the college where the cutoff percentage is met. Candidates will be required to carry some documents with them such as Character certificate, provisional certificate, self attested photocopies of all the documents submitted above, class 11 and 12 original marksheets, etc.

Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Admission Process 2023

Delhi University has introduced the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for admission to UG courses for all its affiliated colleges. The entire process is explained below:

Phase 1: CSAS Application Form

  • Aspirants are required to fill the CSAS application form on the centralized admission portal by paying a one-time non-refundable application fee.
  • ECA and sports quota candidates will have to pay an additional fee.

Phase 2: Selection of Courses and College Preferences

  • Second phase will start after the results of the CUET examination are declared.
  • After the CUET Result declaration, eligible candidates will have to select the courses and fill the preference of desired colleges on the centralised CSAS portal.

Phase 3: Seat Allocation and Final Admission

  • Merit list will be declared on the basis of CUET scores.
  • Multiple rounds of seat allotment will be conducted. 
  • Candidates will have to check if they have been allotted a seat on the CSAS dashboard. If allotted, candidates must accept their seat on or before the given date for that particular round.
  • Seat allocation will be based on multiple factors such as - combination of college and program chosen, position of the candidate on the merit list, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats.
  • Upon acceptance of seat, the university will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the payment of fee.

DCAC Application Process Through CUET UG

  • For UG admissions, candidates must visit the official CUET UG official website - cuet.samarth.ac.in.
  • Upon opening the website candidates will find the ‘Register’ tab, they must click on it. 
  • After reading and understanding the information provided, candidates must hit the ‘Proceed’ button. 
  • After this, candidates will be directed to the application form. Candidates must fill in the required details carefully. 
  • After filling the necessary details candidates will have to upload important documents such as signature, photograph, marksheet, etc. Candidates must upload all the required documents. 
  • Candidates need to pay the application fee at the time of submitting the form or else the Online Application Form will not be considered.
  • After submitting the fee, candidates print out the form and save a hard copy for future reference.

  • Visit the official website of Delhi University – admission.uod.ac.in or CSAS portal – cuet.samarth.ac.in.
  • Click on “Register” in the menu bar.
  • Read all the information carefully and then click on “proceed”.
  • Enter your personal and academic details.
  • Submit the necessary documents such as photograph, signature, class X marksheet, category certificate.
  • Pay an application fee through credit card/debit card/net banking/UPI/etc.
  • Submit the application form.
  • Take a printout of application form for future reference.

FAQs

Ques. How do I check my application for DCAC?

Ans. You will be needed to pay the registration or DCAC admission form fee after you have completed your application form. After you've paid the cost, a dialogue box will appear with your admission form in the submitted category, as well as the option to download and print the fee receipt for future use. In addition, you will receive an email from the University of Delhi saying that your form has been submitted to your registered email address.

Ques. After the declaration of cut-offs, will the candidates be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis at DCAC?

Ans. The admissions at DCAC are not based on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, candidates who have completed the online registration form and meet the eligibility criteria and cut-off for a specific course in a certain college will be considered for admission according to the admission timetable posted on the University website from time to time.

Ques. Can I fill out the online registration form for DCAC if my results aren't in yet?

Ans. Yes, you can submit the online registration form by selecting "Awaited" from the "Result Status" drop-down option on the "Academic Details" page/section while filling out the form. However, you must meet the baseline eligibility requirements as well as the college and course-specific cut-off lists within the specified time frame.
