NIFFT Ranchi Admission 2024: Fees, Cut Off, Entrance Exam, Eligibility

The following section briefly talks about the prerequisites and requirements for admission to B.Tech program. 

B.Tech Eligibility

Passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

B.Tech Admission Procedure

JoSAA

Admission to B.Tech programs is offered through JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). Students who have appeared for either JEE Mains or JEE Advanced must keep the following points in mind while registering:

• Students having qualified JEE Mains are eligible to apply for seat allotment to NITs only.
• While JEE Advanced qualified candidates can apply to all participating institutions.
• Applicants can fill as many options while registering in the decreasing order.
• In order to be considered for admission according to the given options, students must not forget to lock their choices. Once locked no changes can be made.
• In total, there are 7 rounds for seat allocation where all institutions participate who are a part of it.
• Finally, an acceptance fee must be paid for accepting the seat provisionally.
• Students must appear at the nearest JoSAA center for document verification.

How to Apply for JEE Main

• Visit the official website of JEE Main and click on “Fill Online Application Form”.
• Register by giving your personal details, to generate a user id and password.
• The application number will be generated after submitting the details for registration.
• The form requires personal details, address, and mobile number.
• You can set your security question and password to access the application for the future.
• Submit the application form by logging in with the same user id and password that you had set.

Note: If students have already appeared for JEE Mains or JEE Advanced, they must apply for the counseling directly through JoSAA Application 2021.

Documents Required

For admission to NIT, IIIT and GFTI institutions students must carry the following documents for admissions:

• 3 passport sized photographs uploaded for JEE Main entrance.
• Class XII performance check.
• Provisional seat allotment letter.
• Undertaking by the candidate.
• Proof of seat acceptance fee payment
• Photo identity card issued by the Government of India.
• Admit card and scorecard of JEE Main.
• Class XII board mark sheet
• Medical certificate
• Category certificate
• Certificate for persons with disability
• OCI certificate or PIO card, if applicable
• Registration and locked choices for seat allotment

For admission to IIT’s, the following documents will be required:

• 2 passport sized photographs uploaded during JEE Main/JEE Advanced registration.
• Class XII performance check.
• Provisional seat allotment letter.Class XII performance check.
• Undertaking by the candidate
• Proof of seat acceptance
• Photo identity card issued by the Government of India.
• Admit card and scorecard of JEE Advanced
• Date of birth proof (class X mark sheet).
• Class XII board mark sheet
• Medical certificate
• Category certificate
• Certificate for persons with disability
• Passport of the candidates and parents.
• OCI certificate or PIO card, if applicable
• Registration and locked choices for seat allotment

The College requires applicants to be GATE qualified, but admissions are offered through CCMT Counseling.

Each specialization that is offered has a different set of eligibility criteria for admissions. Read on the following section for more information:

• Environmental Engineering: 
  • B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Civil/Chemical/Environmental/Metallurgical/Metallurgy & Materials/Mining Engineering OR
  • M.Sc. in Chemistry/Environmental Science
• Foundry-Forge Technology: B.E/B.Tech or equivalent in Automobile/Mechanical/Manufacturing/Production/Metallurgical/Metallurgy and Materials Engineering
• Manufacturing Engineering: B.E/B.Tech. or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing/ Metallurgical/Metallurgy and Materials/Production/Industrial Engineering
• Material Science and Engineering: 
  • B.E/B.Tech or equivalent in Metallurgical/Materials/Metallurgy and Materials/Mechanical/Production/Ceramics Engineering OR
  • M.Sc. in Materials Science and Engineering: (Physics /Chemistry/Materials Science)

M.Tech Eligibility

Students can get admission to the M.Tech program if they have a relevant degree in B.E/B.Tech/BSc. Engg or equivalent with 60% aggregate/6.5 CGPA (55% for reserved category).

M.Tech Admission Process

CCMT Counseling

M.Tech admissions are also through CCMT Counseling in Jharkhand. The applicants apply online on the official website. Eligibility criteria have been given below: 

Eligibility 

• The applicants must be GATE qualified and should have passed B.E/B.Tech with 6.5 CGPA (or 60%) for general/unreserved category (55% for reserved category).
• Provisional certificate is accepted if final scores are not released by the respective institution. But candidates must submit their final scores within the stipulated time given.
• Students who are GATE qualified will be considered before those who apply on the basis of the previous exam’s qualifying marks.

Note: GATE qualified students must apply through the official website of CCMT to be considered for counseling and admissions.

GATE 

GATE is required by those students who are willing to apply for a master’s or Ph.D. program. The section below throws light upon the registration and requirement of documents.

Documents Required

• Scanned photograph and signature 
• Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card/Passport/Driving License/PAN Card/Voter ID/College ID/Employee Identification Card/Notarized Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address).
• Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate/Course Completion Certificate.
• Copy of mark sheet of V /VI /VII semester.
• Final year students must submit Provisional Certificate Letter as per format issued by the Home of Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Dept.
• Candidates in the final year of AMIE have to submit their mark sheet for Section A of AMIE in case of professional equivalent qualifications.
• Caste Certificate/Disability or PwD Certificate (if applicable).
• Candidates pursuing a higher degree or masters have to submit the qualifying degree certificate.

The applications are accepted through the official website of GOAPS. Where the applicant must register first to create a new registration using one unique email id. 

Note: Students who are GATE qualified should apply through CCMT on their official website to be considered for admission to this institute.
