Ques. Which is better- IEM in Ms. Ramaiah or EEE in Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering?

● Top Answer By Sushmita Raj on 17 Sept 21

Ans. After doing some research online, I would suggest not to go for IEM at Ramaiah, until and unless you are extremely interested in studying that particular subject. Since it will not pay you anything and you will eventually wind up in the same category of mass placement at one of the service-based companies.  Double-check the topics you will be studying. EEE is usually less exposed than IEM, yet EEE is regarded as the most complex branch to be studied.  The majority of EEE / ECE / other branches receive job offers from Infosys, HCL, Accenture, or Tech Mahindra. Parameters IEM at Ms. Ramaiah EEE at Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering Tuition Fees INR 3.47 lakh  INR 10 lakh Placement Percentage 95% 70% Highest Package 13 LPA 15 LPA Average Package 7.6 LPA INR 8 LPA So, what is the point of learning core Electronics if all you have to do at the conclusion of your engineering degree is code? If you want to build a career, think seriously about the branch you select. Regardless of the institution you attend, I believe EEE is far superior to IEM. Pursue EEE only if you are truly passionate about the subject.Read more

Ques. How is production engineering at nit calicut?

● Top Answer By Shaurya Singh on 25 Mar 21

Ans. You must know what you are getting yourself into. The mechanical engineering department of NITC offers 2 BTech courses that are Mechanical and Production. Both of these departments share faculties, labs, some courses, and other facilities. But at the end of the day, both are different courses. There are two types of people seen in Production Engineering at NITC: Students who wanted to study mechanical, but didn’t have the rank for it or could only get mechanical at other NITs. Production is after all similar to mechanical. Students who didn’t have an appropriate rank to choose a branch/college of their choice, but still wanted to study in an NIT. There are few things that students commonly felt during their days: Students are often seen saying that they should get mechanical equivalent certificates. There is no purpose in saying this as they are two different branches. Students also complain that teachers are biased. Few teachers refrain from teaching students from production batches. Mechanical batches are taught mostly by permanent faculty while production batches get guest faculties. There are very few placement opportunities for Production batches in comparison with Mechanical. Core companies are even fewer. The students of Production are often isolated from other batches of students. They are allotted spare rooms. Categories Production Engineering at NIT Calicut Course Fee 5.42 lakh Placement Percentage 70-80% Highest CTC 8 LPA Average CTC 6 LPA Recruiting Companies Tata, Bajaj, HPCL, BPCL, TCS, Texas Instruments, etc. The placement options are not as rare as students may make out, but it may not be in the field that they are looking for. So in the end one can say that, if the student truly wants to be a mechanical engineer, then this college probably isn’t for you. If they just want the NIT experience, then they should know what options they will have after college.Read more

Ques. What is the prospect of production engineering in NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Himani Bose on 23 Mar 21

Ans. Many people think that production engineering is mechanical minus thermodynamics. Which is not true. Production engineering is completely different from mechanical as the subjects are different. My friend is currently in the 4th year of production engineering, NIT Trichy and according to him, it doesn’t really have a good prospect. Here’s why: While other departments have 6 subjects per semester you’ll be having 7. This can get quite hectic for you at times. Despite so much hard work, placements are not good at all. You will never be treated equally to your mechanical friends, however good your profile is. Although you can go into most of the mechanical engineering fields like automobiles, industrial tools making, etc. you will be paid lesser than your mechanical engineer mates. However, if you are planning for higher studies and research, then production is a very good choice. Being a production engineer opens up the manufacturing, industrial, and mechanical higher study options too. So, if placement after B.Tech. is your focus, please look elsewhere but if you are into higher studies then surely go for it. Choose wisely.Read more

Ques. Which would be better to take from NIT Trichy: instrumentation and control or production?

● Top Answer By Anirban Biswas on 04 Sept 21

Ans. I know a little bit about ISI Kolkata since I have a few friends from the institute. Here is what you should know about the internships between semesters.  The course curriculum specifies that in the summer after completing your first year of M.Tech, you have to do an internship either in the industry or academia. You will have 3 options.  Industry: Many companies that visit the Campus for placements of 2nd-year students also select interns for the same. Some of such companies are Samsung Research Labs, Google, General Electric, Reliance, Flipkart, De Shaw, JP Morgan Chase, etc. The average stipend offered last year was 65,000 rupees/month. Some companies offer more than 1 lakh/month. One of my friends interned at Samsung Research Labs. Academia: As per ISI guidelines, you need to pursue an internship at a different academic Institute or industry. A friend of mine went to NUS Singapore, while two others went to a university in Germany. You can also apply to other institutes in Japan, USA, and Europe. People also go to IITs, CMI, and other Tier-1 Institutes of India. Within ISI: If for some reason you could not get an internship in the above-mentioned ways, you can approach any of the 250+ faculty members across all 5 ISI‘s and can ask to work with them in their labs. You will have internships at the end of the first year. In the second year, you will have placements, dissertation, academics. So, the only time left to do an additional internship is the winter break after the first sem. Unless you are extremely enthusiastic, I will suggest that you take a break during this period. Because after the break you will be swamped with coursework for 1.5 years.Read more

Ques. Which is a better choice among industrial systems engineering at IIT Kharagpur and electrical engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar?

● Top Answer By Admin on 18 Jun 24

Ans. It is tough to choose one institute over the other as all institutes have a different approach to teaching, subject curriculum, etc.  I can say with my personal experience that Industrial Systems Engineering at IIT Kharagpur is better than Electrical Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar. IIT Kharagpur is one of the oldest and best engineering colleges in India. For the Industrial Systems Engineering branch, top recruiters like American Express, Capillary Technologies, Bosch, Tata Motors, etc. offer an average package between 13 LPA to 15 LPA, and the average placement rate for this course is over 75%.  Even though the statistics for Electrical Engineering placements at IIT Bhubaneswar are better, IIT KGP offers a much stronger alumni network and a richer legacy. To add to this, the flexible curriculum of IIT KGP makes sure that its students can easily fit into any sector.  After considering all the factors, I would suggest you choose Industrial Systems Engineering at IIT KGP over Electrical Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar. But I would also point out that you must ultimately choose the branch which interests you the most. Read more

Ques. How good is production engineering at BIT Mesra?

● Top Answer By Prithvi Shah on 16 Feb 21

Ans. The Production Engineering department at the Mesra campus, boasts of excellent facilities. A friend of mine recommended BIT Mesra as it is one of the best departments to opt for in BIT Mesra due to the following reasons:  The infrastructure here is great and boasts of well-equipped workshops and labs for forging, foundry, carpentry, welding, fitting, etc with all sorts of machinery. Most of the faculties here are very knowledgeable and will be helpful during your course. They make sure the subjects are understandable and interesting. Some of the topics are obsolete in today's world and you’ll need to update yourself as per current trends. The department organises Seminars and conferences regularly to keep students in trend with the industry. The workload is decently comparable when compared to other streams. So, if you can put some effort you can easily shine in the academics’ part. Placement wise although this department is not excellent you can try to be in the top 15 students in the batch so that you can grab good opportunities. Some of the top organizations such as Hero Moto Corp, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, NBC Bearings, Vedanta, AVTEC LTD, etc visit the campus for roles related to production engineering. Apart from the placement opportunities, many students opt to pursue higher education too. Some of the seniors are pursuing their higher education from top institutes like IIM’s etc. To grab better opportunities, it is good to brush some basics related to Mechanical engineering such as SOM, Thermodynamics, I.C Engines, etc. As some of the Mechanical companies allow the students from production engineering for their recruitment process too.  Here is some information about the institute:  Highest Package 49.76 LPA Average Package 11.76 LPA Fees 11. 57 Lakhs INR No. of seats 15 NIRF Ranking 38 (For engineering) So, if you are interested in production engineering and willing to put in some effort to be on the top you can definitely opt for Production Engineering in BIT Mesra.Read more

Ques. BIT Mesra CS or RVCE CS?

● Top Answer By Akriti Banerjee on 09 Aug 23

Ans. My sister is in her 3rd year of engineering at CSE RVCE. Earlier, she was going for BIT Mesra considering its better ranking and reputation over RVCE. But a friend asked her to reconsider her decision because RVCE CS placements are much better and with enough coding skills and a good CGPA, you can easily secure a 20+ LPA package. Bangalore as a city offers a plethora of opportunities and options, especially the young enthusiasts.  The institute has an active start-up culture and many students become entrepreneurs after a few years m. The BIT tag is slowly losing its credibility and worth as the quality of education is deteriorating day by day Bangalore's location offers more learning opportunities than Ranchi  The crowd here is very diverse so you get to experience a diverse culture and a new way of living that helps in personality grooming. RVCE has a management quota too so you will be surrounded by both talented as well as average students. Overall, I feel RVCE will offer better opportunities because of its excellent location in contrast to Ranchi.Read more
