Mechanical engineering students have fewer job and internship opportunities, although companies such as Faurecia, Textron, and Volvo offer internships, with stipends varying by company. Professors aid final-year students by providing references for internships. The placement department is student-managed, and generally, all students secure internships. For M. Tech regular students in 2018, the annual fee was 44,000 INR. Students from the SC/ST categories received full scholarships from the government. Those who qualified through the GATE examination were entitled to a monthly stipend of 12,400 INR for two years. OBC students were also eligible for scholarships.
