Why is the SLC College cutoff higher every year?

The cutoffs of SLC remain higher every year due to various reasons such as popularity of the courses and college, low difficulty level of board examination, ratio of number of students exceeds the availability of seats, or higher marks obtained in class 12th Which causes tougher competition etc.

For B.Com. Courses: Selection shall be made on the basis of an aggregate of 40% or more marks obtained in qualifying examination including one language (English/Hindi) and three best subjects as per the following:
