Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Automobile Engineering) Syllabus, Course Structure and Program Schedule 2024-2025

The course structure is designed in such a way, that students learn theoretical and practical knowledge of different fields that are covered in the study of automobile engineering. The main subject areas are- Engine systems, electronics and control systems, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, mechanism of vehicle chassis, internal combustion Engine, electrical systems etc.

Following is the basic course structure in most of the engineering institutes in India-

Course Work - Classroom Lectures , Labs and Workshops

Placement - Campus Placement in Private Sector

In most of the engineering institutes, first year of every branch has common subjects. Second year onwards the specialization starts. Thus the first year courses are similar for everyone.

Automotive Engines	Study of internal combustion engines fueled by petrol, diesel, propane, or natural gas
Manufacturing Technology	Manufacturing is study of the production of merchandise for use or sale
Strength of Materials	Subject which deals with the behavior of solid objects subject to stresses and strains
Automotive Chassis	Study of Motor vehicle chassis with its suspension, exhaust system, and steering box.
Design of Machine Elements	Study of Machine elements and their features used as the building blocks
Automotive Transmission	Study of various automobile transmission systems
Automotive Electrical and Electronics	Study of electrical and electronics system used in automobile
Automotive Fuels and Lubricants	Study of various fuels and lubricants and their characteristics
Automotive Engine Components Design	Study of designing of various components used in engines
Vehicle Dynamics	Vehicle dynamics refers study to the dynamics of ground vehicles
