CMAT 2023 Exam Analysis is going to be available after the completion of CMAT 2023 Exam. NTA is expected to conduct CMAT 2023 on April 2 in a single shift from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in CBT mode. As per the revised CMAT 2023 Exam Pattern, the CMAT question paper comprises of 20 questions from each of the 5 sections- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

The Logical Reasoning section has been previously rated easy to moderate. Candidates have usually found the Quant and DI in CMAT exam to be the toughest. Also, the section on Innovation and Entrepreneurship had 20 MCQs of moderate difficulty with more focus on current affairs. Candidates have found  Language Comprehension easy with more questions on antonyms-synonyms and para jumbles. 

CMAT 2023 Answer Key will be out a week after the exam date. Using the answer keys, candidates will be able to calculate their CMAT scores by awarding 4 marks for each correct answer and deducting 1 mark for every incorrect answer.

CMAT 2023 is going to be conducted by NTA tentatively on April 2, 2023. CMAT 2023 Exam Analysis will be available after the completion of the exam. CMAT 2023 is going to be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT) for a duration of 3 hours. The total number of questions is 100 MCQs with 20 questions asked from each section of the CMAT Syllabus 2023.

CMAT 2022 Exam Analysis

CMAT 2022 exam had 5 mandatory sections for the first time. Each section comprised 20 MCQs. The total time given to attempt 100 MCQs was 180 minutes (3 hours). Each question carried 4 marks, i.e. the paper was for a total of 400 marks. It was essential to attempt the questions strategically as there was a negative marking to the extent of 25%. 

  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship section was moderately difficult.
  • Language Comprehension and Logical Reasoning were easier than last year and did not have tricky questions.
  • Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation were tougher than last year with 3-4 lengthy and tricky questions.
  • General Awareness was less focused on current affairs, hence was of moderate difficulty.

CMAT 2020 Quant Highlights

  • Most of the candidates found this section moderately difficult and straightforward. However, a number of the aspirants found questions a little tough to solve for this section.
  • Arithmetic was the topic out of which most of the questions were from this section, whereas solely many questions were from the magnitude relation, Percentage, Interest, Time and work. 
  • The questions of information Interpretation queries were protracted.

  • This section was moderately difficult.

CMAT 2020 Language Comprehension Highlights

  • The Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension section was easy to moderate level of questions in terms of the difficulty level. 
  • The Reading Comprehension lined a complete of six questions and therefore the remainder of the questions were asked from the verbal ability. 
  • A number of the key queries from Verbal Ability were idiom/ phrase, word analogy, fill in the blanks, antonym and synonym, identify correct sentence, etc. 

CMAT 2020 General Awareness Analysis

  • The general awareness section was a little difficult to solve for the candidates.
  • Generally, this section is considered to be difficult. 
  • There were few questions that the aspirants found queries ambiguous and tough to get an answer for.
  • In the General Awareness section, queries were asked from topics like the Indian Constitution, Recent Acts of Parliament, Appointments, known personalities etc.

CMAT 2019 Analysis - Language Comprehension

  • This section comprised of 4 passages, out of which 3 passages were short and had three questions each. Check: CMAT Detailed Syllabus
  • The questions in these 3 passages were from the World Trade Organisation and UN agency about the state of developing countries; vulnerable Languages (Eg: Greek and Latin); Parenting and culture-related systems.
  • The passages were of easily solvable question level and consisted of factual questions apart from one illation question. 
  • The fourth passage had a moderate length and it had six queries for the candidates to aim. The queries were supported by Steve Jobs, some little-known facts regarding him, and his views on life.
  • The queries for the Verbal Ability section were easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level. It comprised one Sentence Correction question, four Vocabulary questions, one grammar error question, two questions on Idioms, one Para Jumble (PJ) question, and one Sentence Completion question. 

CMAT 2019 Analysis - Quantitative Techniques & information Interpretation

  • This section had no set-based questions; only single questions were asked. 
  • In terms of the difficulty level, there have been nine moderately difficult questions, and two very difficult questions whereas the remainder of the questions were comparatively easy. 
  • There were thirteen questions that were quite simple and only needed the candidates to implement basic methods to solve.
  • As unremarkably is the case, Arithmetic and pure mathematics-based questions could be seen the most in this section. 
  • Alternative questions were equally distributed within the areas of Algebra, modern maths, etc. Other than that, from Data interpretation there were two questions that were not set-based.

CMAT 2019 Analysis - Logical Reasoning

  • The difficulty level for this section was easy to moderate level. there have been four Verbal Reasoning questions and 2 Analogy questions. Also, there have been questions that were from topics like sequence, Coding/Decoding, blood relation, etc.

CMAT 2019 Analysis - General Awareness

  • There were around eight questions from Current Affairs. 
  • Candidates who thoroughly read the newspaper daily or those that have a good knowledge of what’s happening across the globe might have simply managed to solve the questions. 
  • The paper was dominated by static GK queries and there have been questions supporting Science, Awards, Politics, etc.
  • A candidate might expect to attain well with thirteen to fifteen makes an attempt during this section with the 80% accuracy.
  • Overall, a candidate would fetch around 99+ marks for making an attempt of around 85 to 87 questions with around 90% accuracy (net score of 305 to 310). 
  • Around 95 marks may be potentially scored if a candidate has attempted around 74-76 questions (net score of 260 to 265). 
  • Around 90 marks may be achieved if the student has marked around 64-66 questions in the question paper with around 90% accuracy (net score of 225 to 230).

  • The CMAT 2018 was quite predictable, and there were no questions out of the blue that would have given surprise to the test takers. 
  • The difficulty level in general of the paper was moderate however Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning (LR), and General Awareness were slightly on the difficult facet.
