VISA & Work Study

VISA

A German Student Visa is necessary for all international students who wish to study in Germany, with the exception of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), and Swiss nationals who can do so without a visa.

Even the national visa grants students the right to remain in Germany for the initial 3 months of a course. During this period, they are required to apply for a residence permit to extend their stay in Germany. Students should do this while their entry visa is still valid. The maximum period they will be receiving through such a residence permit is 2 years.

The required documents to apply for a German student visa:

  1. A duly-filled application form
  2. A smart cover letter stating the purpose and duration of students' stay.
  3. Valid national passport. (It must have three more months of validity on the day you leave Germany)
  4. Two photocopies of your passport.
