- Applicants with citizenship from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland must pay an application fee of $122.30 (app. EUR 100) when applying for a Master’s Programme at the University of Copenhagen, unless they have either permanent residence in Denmark, temporary residence with a view to permanence, or a Danish qualifying degree
- The participation fee per semester is $5503.34 for Partner Country students (Non-EU students). The participation fee is the same irrespective of mobility track/university.
Important Dates
The SUFONAMA Course consists of a first-year at one of three institutions (Bangor, Copenhagen, Goettingen) and a specializing second year at one of the four other institutions.
The students are required to spend the second year at a different university than their first year. The aim of the first study year is to provide a thorough and broad introduction to sustainable forest and nature management. The learning outcomes are similar at the three-first year institutions and allow students to choose freely among the five specialization options in the second year. The first year ends with a joint summer module, conducted as a two-week excursion to one of the countries where the consortium institutions are located.
In the second year, students can specialize in one of the following topics:
(i) Conservation and land management (Bangor),
(ii) Economic management of forests and nature (Copenhagen),
(iii) Forest and Nature Management in a Changing Climate (Goettingen),
(iv) Scandinavian and East European forestry (Alnarp),
(v) Mountain forestry and watershed management (Padova).
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- A good Bachelor degree in Forestry, Biology or related fields, a C.V., a personal statement of motivation, recommendations from two references
- Completion of a qualifying bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, Qualifying Bachelor’s degrees include Agriculture, Biology, Forestry, Geography and Geoinformatics, Natural Resources, Agrobiology or Landscape Engineering – or an equivalent Bachelor’s degree.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- To gain admission to the MSc in Sustainable Forest and Nature Management, all applicants must document English proficiency.

If English is your second language student must:
- Either pass an IELTS Academic, TOEFL, Cambridge Advanced English, or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) test.
- Or document that you have passed Danish secondary school 'English level B' (Engelsk B).
