What is your philosophy of leadership?

“To develop more leaders, not followers”

My leadership style is to develop more leaders and not followers. I have entrusted principals and registrars with many responsibilities and I constantly motivate them to become better leaders. I encourage my peers to take up more responsibility for the better functioning of the college.

How do you try to make subjects industry-oriented?

“Providing students with updated industrial visits, seminars, and Training”

I realize that updating the curriculum regularly is very much important to be at par with the latest trends and practices of the industry. Hence we constantly update the curriculum and make sure it follows current industry standards. This helps students to remain up to date with the industry and also it makes sure that the students are at par with the best colleges across the country.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the college and the students are?

“Providing students with high-quality content”

The main aim is to uplift the quality of education at our institute and I work to achieve that. I aim to make this institute at par with the best colleges across the state and the country. I have delegated all roles to my principals and registrars and I take weekly review meetings from all the core members about all developments. I discuss key issues with the management and try to come up with solutions for the same which will in a way benefit the students and the faculty as a whole.

What do you think should be the top priority of your college over the next 10 years?

“To convert the college into a full-fledged university”

In the next 3-4 years, we want to convert it into a full-fledged university with various courses. We have expanded to a lot of courses and we are looking forward to expanding even more. I also aim to uplift the quality of education, faculty, and students as a whole to make CIET one of the best universities. The primary aim is to make CIET a household name in all of Raipur and Chhattisgarh.

When you first came here, what was your vision for the college?

“To convert the college into a hub of Technological knowledge”

In this part of India, Chhattisgarh has been lagging compared to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka as far as technical education is concerned. Very few good colleges. I did my graduation from Sagar University; I had to travel to Sagar to get my degree because there were no good colleges here. Hence the quality of education I had received there, I wanted Chhattisgarh students to get the same. Hence, I started diploma and pharmacy college in 2004, then engineering, MBA, nursing and expanded the colleges. My vision is that nobody should be denied the opportunity to quality education and CIET is one such college that is on its way to fulfilling that vision.

What do you see as your College’s greatest strengths?

“Highly Experienced Faculties are the greatest strength”

The greatest strength is our faculties. Faculties are the heart and soul of any educational institute. Almost all faculty members are PHDs and few are pursuing their Ph.D. Other Strengths are good placements and excellent quality of education. We give excellent support for placements, from developing soft skills to communication, we give every guidance to the students.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for your College specifically?

“Ensuring the improvement of communication skills is the biggest challenge”

Students of Chhattisgarh are talented but their communication skills are very poor. They are not up to the mark in terms of soft skills. This is a big challenge when it comes to placements where companies mostly expect you to be fluent in English. Hence we try to provide them all the soft skills training along with technical education. Through our various special classes, we make sure that the communication skills of the students are enhanced and they become ready for placements.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Whatever a person can think, He/She can achieve by consistently following the right path”

Whatever a human mind can think and believe, it can be achieved. Nothing is impossible in life and a human being can achieve anything. So never give up and work hard always to achieve your dreams.
