Dr. Biranchi Narayan Panda is currently designated as the Vice Chairman of Gandhi Institute of Technological Advancement. He is a B.Tech and an LLB graduate. Having diverse and vibrant experience as a filmmaker, journalist, and entrepreneur, Dr. Panda’s multitude personality inspires his students to pursue their dreams. Apart from this, he has published more than eight research papers in diverse fields . 

In an exclusive interview with collegedunia.com, Dr. Narayan shares his views on the education industry and provides some valuable tips to the students. 

Thoughts on Education Industry

Education is a medium that helps an individual in clearing all their doubts and fears regarding the challenges and happiness in life. It helps in socializing better with human beings and provide much confidence. A good education is the only way to eradicate bad habits, poverty, inequality, gender discrimination, and so many social issues. This industry not only provides knowledge but teaches people with necessary life skills. 

Education is like a healthy food which nourishes us both internally and externally. It makes us strong and gives much confidence by developing our personality.

I love being in the company of students because they are the future of this world. This is the only industry where you can facilitate society as well. Education helps us to explore our thoughts and ideas and makes it able to express it in different forms. So, for me, education is like a medium through which I can interact with different people and share ideas; this makes it the best industry.

Leadership philosophy of Dr. Narayan Panda

My leadership philosophy focuses on creating and maintaining good working relationships that are supportive and interactive. I believe in my staff and encourage them to participate in the decision-making process. 

In my opinion, a leader, to be successful, should be accepted by his followers and should have the ability to convince them that their individual and organizational goals are compatible. This is more meaningful in a management education like ours, where we associate with various stakeholders like students, teachers, researchers, and industry professionals.

Suggestions to the young generation

Through exposure to a wide range of experiences these days, present-day youth is far more intelligent than we can imagine. However, there is an absolute need to help them channelize their energy in the right direction. My suggestion to any student aspiring for a great career is if you want to have a great job in the area of your choice, make sure that every thought, habit, and action of yours, is directing you in that direction. 

By rigorously disciplining yourself to think only about what you want and keeping yourself away from what you don’t wish to, you begin your journey toward success. Saying a burning ‘yes’ to something gives you the ability to say ‘no’ to other things. You have to develop that single-minded focus. There are only two things needed to be successful in life. First, decide what it is you want in life because most people never do that. Second, determine the price you are going to pay to get it & resolve to pay that price.
