The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. What are your thoughts on the same?
“The students have extremely creative mind which can lead to best results”
Our Education system is very different from foreign countries. We believe in hard work, and students are encouraged to learn by themselves. Indian students have a very creative brain and a high level of understanding and grasping power. I have visited European countries and others. An average Indian brain is relatively superior to others. Our society and culture inject that into our brain.
How does the curriculum of BPUT, Rourkela ensure the best practice of industry?
“We ensure to provide experiential learning environment for the students”
Our university is of a very high standard as it is run with a very handful of staff members. It is the first technical university to implement a complete e-examination system including pre, post and digital evaluation system. During the pandemic, all students have appeared in online mode through any device at their designated place of choice and results were published immediately to help the final year students.
What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?
“The research and entrepreneurship innovation is what we want to achieve”
We want to focus upon research. The research cell will promote research activities. Additionally, we want Entrepreneurship cells to encourage the young minds to go for start-ups. Introducing Technical Journal for faculties doing research under BPUT in constituent and affiliated colleges.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
“Students should focus on various areas to develop interest and passion”
Many alumni of BPUT are very well placed. Recently a student from Bhubaneswar has bagged a job in Microsoft with pay 43laks per annum. Another group of alumni have started an edutech startup “cqems.in” – a versatile, multidisciplinary platform as per NEP2020 and launched during a pandemic. It's a very innovative online learning platform for any stream or discipline. Anyone can learn any topic anytime on any device. The students/ faculties/ Institutes can be very much benefited from this.
What do you see as BPUT, Rourkela’s greatest strengths?
“Our students and faculty are the backbone of the institution”
Around 200 colleges have thousands of teachers and 1lakh + students in each batch. It is a beautiful pool of technocrats. Suppose each college will start one Industry with its infrastructure and human resources. In that case, the state of Odisha will be a super power in each field like Industry, Technology, Architecture and Economy or Finance.
How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your college?
“There is a continuous need for evolution to ensure quality”
Institutes, Faculties and students need to undergo a continuous quality evaluation and monitoring system. The assessment should be to enhance the quality of technical education with scope to have positive growth. Faculties need a platform to showcase their expertise on a national platform. Students should be able to access the subject experts easily irrespective of their place or position.
