What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general and ITS Engineering College specifically?

Today's most significant difficulty for the higher education system is that student expectations have increased, and the quality of higher education should reflect these expectations.

To make mobility feasible, it is essential to assure mutual recognition of degrees and credit points while at the same time allowing for individuality and diversity by realigning their curriculum.

Employability remains a top priority for higher education institutions, despite the rising student debt load. Thus, employability is a significant and developing matter for which employees are accountable.

To have a well-established research capacity, institutions of higher education must develop multidisciplinary centres that bring together numerous areas of knowledge and cultivate ties with companies.

Today's institutes of higher education enrol students from a variety of areas and countries. Leading engineering schools, such as ours, are increasingly understanding that having students from various regions and nations contributes to the improvement of our institution's quality. So, we need to become more focused on student 360-degree development.

Challenges I.T.S. faces in Higher Education

Are there any suggestions you would like to give to the students who are about to begin their higher studies?

Grit, resilience, conscientiousness, and persistence are the qualities that are important for success for each student when he embarks on the new journey for higher education on his career path. The next 4 years of the student's life will change his thinking, perspective, and outlook; in short, it will frame his personality.

I will advise all students to get involved in as many activities as they can; both technical and soft skills will help them improve their confidence.

Hands-on experience would be a benchmark, be it a project, a mini-project, or competitions, not only limiting to reading but also focusing on the practical for a well-balanced profile.

  • Focus on understanding the fundamental concepts. Engineering is a subject that builds upon itself, so it's important to have a strong foundation in the basics.
  • Get involved in extracurricular activities: Join clubs, attend events, and participate in projects to gain hands-on experience and make connections in the field.
  •  Maintaining a healthy work-life balance, Engineering can be challenging, but it's important to take care of both mental and physical health.

Network with peers and professionals, attend events, connect with alumni, and reach out to professionals in the desired field to build relationships and learn.

Do you have any extracurricular activities or programs to enhance the students' skills or expose them to real-world challenges?
