In an exclusive interview with Collegedunia.com, Mr. Indraneel shares a glimpse of the working of his Institute.

Gratifying journey in the education industry

I have been fortunate enough to have worked in various positions in this sector, from being a faculty member to the administrator level. Working with various intellectual and visionary leaders has helped me to grow as an individual. I have been associated with IEM since 2006 and have not regretted serving this institution at any point of time. My passion for this sector has only increased and has motivated me to do more for the future of our world through our youngsters.

Knowledge imparting system at IEM

IEM thoroughly believes that education is not only about teaching students, but it also involves a proper planning and framing of the entire system. Our way of grooming and make a student well-equipped is to keep a balance between theoretical and practical knowledge. We make sure to monitor each student personally and provide them an atmosphere, which is suitable to them.

Significant challenges faced at the Institute

Being an educationist, I believe we face challenges every now and then. As this field is full of competition and innovation as well, there are times when it becomes difficult to comprehend with the same. But, we at IESM make sure to overcome these challenges as fast as we can.

Dynamic Learning Method - Curriculum Practices

We have brought changes in the traditional learning methodology by introducing Blended learning. It helps the students to access teaching resources round the clock. Faculty become more of a facilitator rather than Chalk and Talk teacher. We have even started profiling students individually and take Tri-Mentoring Sessions with them. Special Workshop/Symposiums are organized to equip students with modern tools of the trade.

Placement Opportunities at IEM

In here, placement is not an activity in isolation, but a continuous process encompassing a whole gamut of exercises. Alert, agile and versatile executives drive the placement function under the astute guidance of a Director Corporate Relations, Mrs. Gopa Goswami.

The Department keeps itself aware regarding the market need and ensures the infusion of required skill sets in a student. As a measure of consolidation, the sprinkling of the soft skill attributes continues in liberal doses. Seminars, workshops awareness, and motivational initiatives run around the year to bolster the spirit and sustain the tempo in high operational gear with an accelerated pace.

Upcoming goals for the Institute

The first and foremost goal is to introduce Study Abroad Programme (SAP), especially in Singapore, Australia, UK, USA, and Canada. Next, to collaboration with foreign universities and give students the opportunity for immersive earnings through visits to campuses overseas and exposure to courses conducted there. In the coming years, we look forward to having more collaboration with foreign universities and student-faculty exchange programs.

Suggestions to young generations

I want the upcoming youth to know that being smart, having updated academic knowledge is also not enough. They should be physically active as well. They must not fear to face any challenges, prepare themselves for the worst and always stay positive.

I want to quote Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, from the book Wings of Fire: An Autobiography -
“Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep.”
