How do you establish healthy relations with the students?

"By regularly communicating with them through an open communication platform"

To have a healthy relationship with my students, I regularly interact with them during and after classes to understand their academic and personal issues from their point of view by ensuring a transparent and trustworthy communication environment. 

How do you bring in a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects?

"I use case studies as examples while teaching students and industrial visits and training are conducted too"

For the purpose of enforcing a corporate oriented and practical approach in teaching, we practice experiential learning in the form of case studies, societal beneficial innovations, real world scenarios, projects and conduct hands-on training and industrial visits. Students are also motivated to look for some good internship opportunities in reputed organizations and firms. 

Which best practices are offered by your department to students to help them gain necessary skills?

"Special classes to assist students for their projects and conferences are organized by us"

Our college usually conducts a week of E3 in which all the students present papers and do project planning. In addition to this, we also provide peer coaching to needy students and encourage them to attend events like conferences to help them gain knowledge on cutting edge technologies.

How do you strategize and update the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

"We finalize the curriculum after consulting and taking our stakeholders suggestions into consideration"

We follow the curriculum designed by Anna University which is usually updated every four years. While implementing the curriculum, feedback is also taken on from different stakeholders including students, teachers, Alumni, Employers etc. for the purpose of including new events, activities or programs as per their needs.

Which extracurricular activities are organized by college to enhance the skills of students?

"Sports events, cultural fests and national days are celebrated with full enthusiasm"

Various co-curricular activities like sports events and cultural fests are organized by us from time to time to give students a platform to showcase their talents and make them learn qualities like leadership and team building. Yoga exercises are also organized by us in addition to the celebration of national days. Lastly, Societal Beneficial Innovation is a feather in the cap of our college in which societal needs are identified and innovative solutions are implemented by the students.

How do you prepare your students to cope up with this competitive world?

"We conduct interactive sessions, guest lectures and technical events regularly"

To prepare our students for this competitive world, we regularly arrange interaction sessions for them where they get to listen about the existing competitions and requirements of industry from the people who are already working in the corporate world. And to boost their technical skills, we use the approach of experiential learning. In addition to this, guest lectures, technical seminars and career development programs are conducted to help them address outside with more confidence.

When you joined this college, what was your vision for it and how are you trying to achieve the same?

"To make this institute a better place for students by utilising my skills, knowledge and experiences"

My vision while I joined this institute was to utilize all my knowledge and experiences for the betterment of our students and institute by becoming an integral part of college. My joinery with the college has been amazing so far and I have completed 18 years here and I am striving daily to achieve my this goal with the support of our management and dear colleagues. 

How does your college enhance the skills of its faculty and prepares them as per industry standards?

"They are trained through FDPs, industry interaction sessions and conferences"

For the purpose of upgrading the skills of faculty members, Faculty Development Programs, training and workshops are conducted by our college and reputed industrialists and experts are invited to share their valuable advice and inputs with us. Faculties also regularly attend conferences and publish their research papers in reputed journals. Apart from all this, they are trained by Virtusa and all of them are also a part of Naalaiya Thiran project, an initiative of our government.

What approaches do you bring in apart from curriculum to teach the students?

"Technical events, seminars, professional visits and training programs are regularly conducted by us"

In addition to teaching our students using the curriculum, we regularly organize events like technical seminars, industrial visits, placement training classes, and add-on courses. Our students also keep participating in coding events like Hackathons and have topped the leaderboard board as well.

Any valuable advice which you would like to give to the students to have a prosperous career ahead?

"Have faith in yourself and keep a curious attitude to learn new things everyday"

I would like to advise my students to stay a lifelong learner, because only your learnings and curious attitude will help you to achieve your dreams and passion. Have faith in God, work hard and trust in his timing. Lastly, be humble and confident to face the outside world with more courage.
