What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“The feeling and motivation to serve youth”

Youth is full of energy, creativity, skills, and an abundance of talent. It has been an opportunity for me to be surrounded by these bundles of joy through this sector for a long time. When you become a part in shaping the career and personality of a person, and you see them grow and be successful in life, it gives you immense pleasure. Now this sense of satisfaction when you see your students being professionally settled and doing good in life, serves their nation well and considers you a part of their individual journey, you feel worthwhile and confident.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

“Inspiring, Involving and Decision making”

When it comes to leadership, I follow my natural skills and strengths in such a way that it inspires and motivates others. For me the most important thing, being a leader, is building trust with the team and having their faith in me. A leader must always be ready with positive answers when people put up queries, and must take responsibility for all the results and consequences of the decisions that have been taken. Leadership is also about utilising the competence of your team members to the best and manage resources effectively to achieve your organizational goals. I take the suggestions of the teammates, involve them in the activities and motivate them to implement the best of their abilities so that they have a sense of belongingness and feel themselves as a part of the Institution and the decision making.

What can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

“A dedicated team and potential skill development practices”

The programmes are designed to facilitate and bring out the true potential of the students and shape them. We foster sharpening of skills and enhancement of knowledge through various co-curricular and extra curricular activities which are carried out by our faculty who keep themselves updated throughout. They also contribute to the expansion of the body of knowledge in their field of expertise and mentor students, which makes them comfortable enough with the faculty and surroundings. We follow a clear and transparent communication system where staff and students are guided to give feedback and tackle issues mutually.

What do you like people to know about MIT that they may not?

“Student participation and reasonable fee structure”

MIT is the best place when it comes to higher education. The reason being, students over here are well trained by expert faculty, and we have different extra curricular activities which helps in shaping their personality. The students here are more confident, they do not have any kind of hesitation when it comes to participation, be it presentation, seminars, sports, or any other activities. There is a lot of participation from the students’ side. Moreover, the fee structure here is very affordable. We also have a lot of scholarship schemes available in different categories as well, which enables all the girls who want to study to gain access to the education provided by us so that no one is deprived of education.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education?

“Quality improvement and outcome based learning in Indian Institutions”

According to me, the biggest challenge for higher education includes the fact that the quality of teaching is decreasing these days. Faculty needs to be trained properly about how to deal with the students and further communicate the knowledge to them in the best way. Moreover, as the number of private institutions has increased now-a-days, and the number of seats is more than the number of students willing to take admission. So, the quality of students who are taking admission is also decreasing. It is almost like they have taken admission by force and are not very interested in studies; therefore, their results are also adverse. Thirdly, when we compare our colleges with foreign universities, a lack of practical projects and industry-based training is seen. We do have internship programmes, but sometimes their approach is not how it is supposed to be. We have to give more emphasis to practical and value based learning in India.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the aspiring students?

“Have fun but prepare yourself for a prosperous future”

College time is going to be the best time of your life. During this time you are physically fit, you have lots of energy, you can laugh, you can enjoy, you can have fun but at the same time you have to keep in mind a sense of responsibility that these golden years also lay down the foundation of your career as well. The quality of life that you are going to lead in the future depends on how well you train yourself in these years. You train yourself with lots of experience and engagement, but in a positive manner, in a way that improves your personality, skills, and prepares you to confront the world when you step out of the college.
