What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?
“To make students aware of the present-day importance of the Biomedical Field”
We need to educate students on the curriculum subjects. Need to make aware of present-day importance of Biomedical field in Industry & Society. Make students do a minimum of 3 projects in his/her tenure in the college. Make him/her have presentable skills, interpersonal skills which are required once they move out of college. Make students know how to prepare for campus placements with continuous training till they are placed. Guide students who want to move abroad for higher studies.
What are your views upon the placements and higher education about the students?
“Biomedical Engineering Students have a wide range of Career Scope”
BVRIT Biomedical Engineering department has Alumni all around the world Best department for Higher Studies. Plenty of foreign universities offer M.S courses in the Biomedical field. Due to this, you can find Biomedical Alumni from BVRIT all over the world. There are strong alumni abroad who can guide students for foreign studies. Biomedical Engineering students are eligible for software engineering Jobs. Capgemini recruits Biomedical Engineering students every year separately. Thanks to Capgemini. Students will participate in all software drives. This college under Sri Vishnu Educational Society has liaison offices at Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Delhi with Hyderabad as Head Quarters. Because of this strong placement team, students can easily grab opportunities. College gives training required for placements starting from 4th year 1st semester till they are placed.
What are the approaches you bring in apart from curriculum to teaching the students?
“Providing Students with Labs such as Texas Instrument Lab, AI & ML Lab, Embedded Systems Lab & Assistive Technology Lab”
Here in the Biomedical Engineering department, we include students in special labs which are beyond curriculum labs. Such as Texas Instrument Lab, AI & ML Lab, Embedded Systems Lab & Assistive Technology Lab (ATL is one of its kind in India which was established in the year 2009, by US Prof. Alan Rux). This exposure makes students do projects which are getting prizes in different project expos. BVRIT Biomedical Engineering students won 1st prize in USA organization RESNA (Rehabilitation Engineering & Assistive technology Society of Northern America) in 2020-21.
How do you help your student to cope up with the competition?
“Providing students with a wide range of career options”
BVRIT Biomedical Engineering is lucky to have less competition, as, throughout Telugu-speaking states, the Biomedical as the undergraduate program is available in three colleges only. So, for placements, they have better chances. Truly speaking, plenty of biomedical vacancies are seen in every job portal. As far as Higher studies are considered, foreign options are highly preferred by our students. We only need to guide them based on their career options.
