International Alumni Expert Lecture Series at Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University

International Alumni Expert Lecture Series was organized by the Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University Alumni Association (IPNUAA) in October 2021. About 30 International Alumni members of IPNUAA delivered a technical talk to existing students. A variety of experts from all pharma sectors like formulation development, industrial pharmacy, pharmacology, clinical pharmacy, analysis, chemistry, etc. from prestigious Universities and Pharma Organizations across the world were invited to share their expertise and experiences on virtual platforms. 

The series was organized with the aim to provide an excellent opportunity for students by imparting them with a variety of knowledge enriching sessions and with a vision of achieving excellence in pharmaceutical education, research & innovation to develop outstanding professionals catering to the health care needs of humankind. The students of Nirma University got the opportunity to interact with various International Alumni members; many of them were pursuing doctoral or postdoctoral research at reputed universities, as well as, many were holding senior decision-making positions in Pharma MNCs.

At the Institute of Pharmacy, alumni members are the key to success as they have witnessed the growth of the institute as well as contributed directly or indirectly to the name and fame of the institute across the globe. The Institute of Pharmacy has always considered Alumni as one of the most important stakeholders, and hence, they involve them in all appropriate forums to contribute positively to the development of the institute. Currently, Alumni members have been involved in the IQAC-I committee and area committee for the decision-making process regarding the curriculum as well as quality policies.

IPNUAA regularly invites Alumni members for Career Guidance Sessions as well as Technical talks. In addition to the Annual meet of IPNUAA being organized every year in the month of January; for strengthening the professional networking, they initiated sector-wise ‘Alumni Networking Meet’ for specific disciplines/departments at the institute. Moreover, the alumni fund is also being utilized for the Book-Bank facility to existing students based on merit.

A large number of activities were performed by the Alumni Association namely Annual Alumni Meet & Alumni Networking Meet, Technical Talk & Career Guidance Sessions, Social Media & Alumni Relations, Book Bank Facility to Meritorious Students, and Prominent Alumni Award Felicitation.

Overall, the organization of the International Alumni Expert Lecture Series proved to be the major milestone set by IPNUAA at Nirma University as a unique month-long international alumni event. The lecture series encourages students to interact with Alumni from all over the world and gain vital knowledge from that interaction and helps to choose the right career path ahead.
