Mr. Permindur Singh is the CEO of Guru Gobind Singh Foundation (GGSF). What is your philosophy of leadership?

“I believe in delegating tasks and staying involved and inspiring team members”

I believe that “I am an active team leader who knows how to motivate, inspire and guide team members by respecting their self-esteem to march towards achieving set goals”.

I believe in leading by example and by setting a well-proofed system at the workplace. I believe that effective communication among all involved in a task is very essential for the success of a task. 

So I can proudly claim my style as Participative Leadership.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the best practice of the industry?

The GGSF foundation runs School, Polytechnic and Engineering College. The Curriculum of these units is designed by concerned affiliating boards and universities. However, looking into the need of the industry and the need for producing industry-ready graduates and diploma the institute provides one of the best industry required hands-on training to the students. They are being guided at each step to perform better and different at all times. In this direction, the institute has an Industry-Institute Partnership Excellence Center of SIMEN, BOSCH, CISCO, SATCOM, FANUC, etc.

What do you think should be the top priority of your institute for the next 10 years?

“To achieve the status of being a trustworthy private institute in coming years”

Our top priority is to be a center of excellence by raising the levels of R &D activities, promoting innovative entrepreneurial spirit in students with the significant application of technology through a professional venture for societal gains, thus taking the Guru Gobind Singh Foundation to the status of a Private University by 2025.

When you first came to this educational foundation, what was your vision for the foundation?

“Making students ready to enter the job market & succeed completely”

Having faced challenges with new recruitment in the industry, there was always a huge gap between the skills new graduates possess and the ones required by the industries. I always felt the need to enhance the academic side. Hence, the vision was to make students industry-ready and meet the requirement of the industry with skilled engineers. As a result of which, we established a skill development center with the help of the industries.

What would you like people to know about your foundation they may not know?

“The only polytechnic in the state of Maharashtra of which all branches are NBA accredited”

Guru Gobind Singh Foundation is the only trust with professional management with an industrial background working purely on charity for the benefit of society. 

Also, Guru Gobind Singh College of Engineering and Research Centre is the only engineering college under the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune which has been accredited by NAAC in the sixth year from its inception. It provides quality education at very affordable fees.

Current day graduates are required to train themselves to face the challenges of 21stcentury. The graduates are not just required to own a degree certificate, but they will be required to possess the skills required to get and sustain a job. This requires that graduates be simultaneously trained in key skills in their domain.

What are your educational plans?

“The commencement of student exchange programs for enhanced learning opportunities”

We plan to gear up students with skill sets that will make them global citizens. We plan to introduce foreign languages and training students in enhancing the skills over and above the curriculum by tying up with international universities for student exchange programs.

How do you establish a healthy environment in your education foundation?

A good institute is known to have good relationships with all its stakeholders. At the position of CEO, I make myself more approachable which helps to build healthy relationships among the head of the institution, faculty, and staff. This approach helps to build a positive environment within the institute.
