What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?
“Providing Students with best teaching experience and mentorship”
My role in totality comes as an academician. I have multiple roles to play. My two most important roles are as a Teacher and Mentor. As a teacher, I look after the subjects and curriculum of the students and as a Mentor, I look into the problems related to their studies, assignments, examinations, etc. Furthermore, if the students are facing any issues in their personal life as well, they approach me and we have a healthy talk. I have certain mentees assigned under me and I’ve kind of a Quasi parental relationship with them.
What is your Teaching Philosophy?
“Learning is a two-way process and leaders should take care of it”
There is no philosophy as such. I have a passion for teaching, that passion makes me very inquisitive regarding sharing of my knowledge and the information that I’ve. I always ensure that teaching is a way where you’re not only sharing the information that you have, you’re also learning side by side. Learning happens in two ways, you’re learning from the students and for that, I have to be honest in my work. Students can share their issues with regard to their subject or any query for that matter.
How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?
“Focus on creating a friendly aura in a professional capacity”
There are a lot of ways of establishing a healthy relationship with students. My approach is strict and friendly at the same time. I try to be friendly with them by striking informal conversation in order to make them comfortable to speak up their mind.
What are the approaches you bring in apart from the curriculum to teach the students?
“Providing students with interactive sessions based on developing analytical capacity”
I have two aspects in my teaching pedagogy, the first is my lecture delivery method and the second is my discussion-participation method. I like to encourage dialogue sessions and approach that before answering the questions myself, I tend to seek answers from them. This lets me gauge how far they have understood the concepts, are they able to brainstorm on the topic at hand.

What are the best practices offered by the department for the skill enhancement of the students?
“Providing Students with best research opportunities and Projects”
The department ensures that the sessions are taken properly by the faculty. Teachers can be as innovative with the question paper as they like. In addition to this, there are ppts, assignments, quizzes, good research opportunities, and scope to get their work published. Students get research projects, internships under firms and lawyers, etc.
How do you strategize and update the curriculum at regular intervals?
“Organise a meeting with the Board of Study Council for maintaining industry standards”
We introduce things that are good for the subject and required to be discussed. Every suggested change gets reviewed by the Board of Study Council, (the BOS council). Change is a part of life and adapting to the changes is a required approach to evolve.
How do you help your student to cope up with the competition?
“Imparting the Philosophy of Working Hard, Peace and Satisfaction”
I always ask students to do what gives them happiness, what gives them peace and satisfaction at the end of the day. You might try several things but at the end of the day, your satisfaction should be your ultimate goal. It is important to feel content with the kind of work you are doing and the labor you’re putting into it, the feeling of competitive pressure automatically reduces. Excelling this way eases out the competition. I also impart the philosophy of working hard with a lot of diligence and honesty, this will be fruitful for the longer run. With this generation that requires instant results, understanding this is important.
Do you have faculty-mentored extracurricular programs to enhance the skills of the students?
“Providing Students with extracurricular activities for exposing them to real-world challenges”
We have a good number of centers at Alliance University, we have a center for intellectual property rights, a center for arbitration and dispute resolution, and a center for corporate and commercial laws. Additionally, we also have different societies namely, the MOOT court committee, debating societies, and cultural committees. Students are provided with enough liberty and exposure be it ideas, research, workshops.
What was your vision for the college from the start and how are you implementing it?
“To contribute in the research arena and promote good research work”
Alliance University has a reputation which it has established over the years. I aim to provide the students something that I would always want myself to be a part of. I focus on encouraging students to get themselves involved in the research works. Currently, I am working on providing the students with the best research topics required for their overall development.
How do you make the curriculum industry-oriented?
“Providing students with industrial visits to gain practical experience”
We are expected to design the curriculum as per the industry practices, what is the industry demand, what practices are taking place in the industry. Ensuring whether the student is in parity with the industry as they graduate. The faculty is expected to know what are the industry demands of the subject that they are teaching. Students get insights about industry, advocates, lawyers, and associates.

What advice would you like to give to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?
“Work hard and do it with a lot of integrity”
For Law students, just studying the laws is never sufficient, a lawyer is required to have a good amount of analytical skills, a good amount of examination skills, to look beyond what is there, beyond the picture. Develop these skills, make professional connections. Do as many internships as possible, you’ll learn a lot of valuable things as it opens a different world to you. It will also help you understand in which area of law your interest truly lies.
