Although IIM Ahmedabad is not the best HR campus, it is the best in its class. Furthermore, it is believed that the 'Specialization' thing should not be dependent on the institute, but rather on what a person sees their career as being in. Choose wisely, regardless of the institute, because you will have to live with it for many years.
IIM Ahmedabad does not offer an HR specialization. However, you can always add more HR electives to your PGP program in the second year to help your cause. If you are certain that you want to work in human resources, apply to XLRI or TISS. They offer the best HRM education in India.
I don’t think you should worry about the high fees at all since the banks on campus take care of 100% of your fees. All you need to do is show them your admission letter, and they will provide you with decent loans. Many banks are easy to give you loans of up to 30+ lakhs some without collateral too in the case of A, B, or C.
Once you have made it to IIM Ahmedabad you can change the date of your family. With enough hard work, you can land a job that will help you repay the loans within 3-4 Years.
So what you need to do is just become determined to work hard and earn your fees!
Among other things, IIM Ahmedabad will teach you to be accountable. You need to be 100% disciplined in the academic program. You are free to do what you want in your personal time. You can chill or party every night. You can also prepare for a start-up. It’s entirely up to you. You will have to make the choices and live with them.

The UG score is an important criterion in the selection for PI and final shortlisting. However, these marks constitute only a tiny component of the overall criteria, so rather than focusing on graduation score, it's recommended that you prioritize CAT and WAT-GDPI preparation.

This question can be best answered by someone who has had a taste of both campuses. Fortunately one of my friends was lucky enough to move to IIM Ahmedabad after studying for a year at IIM Kozhikode. He shared his experience and the various things that contrasted in both the B Schools.
Faculty: Being the topmost B School, IIM Ahmedabad does attract some of the best faculties that are experts in their fields. They had too much knowledge and experience to impart making the classes a thrilling experience.
Crowd: While the crowd at almost all the good B Schools attracts only the best, IIM Ahmedabad is famous for its exceptionally good peer groups with only geniuses and masterminds in their respective fields.
Academic rigor: Normally B Schools offer a very hectic life with academic pressure combined with placements and clubs and committee activities. But at IIM Ahmedabad the topmost preference is Academics only. You are required to attend 3 lectures of 75 minutes of case study daily. These case studies are extremely lengthy and on average you are required to read 300 pages every day. Such economic rigor is lacking in the case of IIM Kozhikode.
There are several more minor differences between IIM Kozhikode and IIM Ahmedabad but these 3 are the main things an aspirant needs to consider while choosing one of the two B Schools.
The dual degree exchange program means spending 2 terms abroad. This program has only 10 seats and the criteria for selection is solely performance in the first year at IIMA. You will get a Master in Management degree from your exchange university. But you will have to complete a Master's thesis at the exchange university as a requirement for the degree.
Because of its firmness, this degree is not opted by many students. One of my friends did opt for this degree from EBS and she shared her experience of how she managed to get 2 degrees simultaneously.
Firstly, the course curriculum at EBS ends in June. Then she had to write her thesis and submit it by November. But her job in India was to start in May so she requested to complete the thesis alongside the curriculum. Her request was accepted. She completed her thesis by April and returned back to her job in India.
She was the first person to graduate in her Masters batch at EBS. This degree helped her get a good deal of exposure to academic culture in Europe.
This is certainly not the case. Rohan Jain and Aviral Bhatnagar are some of the most followed writers on various social media platforms.
My cousin is a student from this institute. He once told me a story that was told to all the students by one of the professors. It's about Prof. Nanda, Director at IIM Ahmedabad, speaking at Harvard University. He said that the brightest of students go to Harvard Law School and end up at Harvard Business School. He didn’t say anything about the writing skills but mentioned that not all at HBS are bright students. Similarly, not all the students at HBS would have exceptional writing skills.
The same can be assumed about IIM Ahmedabad. According to the professor, IIM Ahmedabad students are capable of-
IIMA graduates are known for their caliber and talent. But here the emphasis is on the diligence that is exercised in academics at IIMA.
Some of the graduates from IIM A and IIM B were once told to write a reflection paper on three important learnings in their life. This was a test for them to be selected for Ph.D. under a professor. None of the students produced any satisfactory answers. All of them wrote in a very descriptive way without being critical and analytical. The professor here is high opinionated but very good in articulation and his writing style.
Not everyone has writing skills like Rohan Jain and Aviral Bhatnagar. A student can definitely improve his/her structuring and writing skills while being a part of the IIMA journey. The journey has always been transformative for the students.
If you are concerned about PORs and extra-curricular activities, then you don’t need to worry. While shortlisting for the summer placement, recruiting companies look at your undergraduate CG and other academic achievements along with PORs and extracurricular activities.
During your second year, you will get lots of opportunities to build up your CV. You can take up independent projects and courses under professors which you can put on your CV. In the second year, it’s easier to get into clubs as well. IIM A also conducts many business case study competitions, in which you can participate. Winning such competitions will earn you valid CV points.
For final placement too, PORs and extracurriculars matter only to a certain extent. What matters more is your CG and the number of projects that you have completed.
