Amit Bichewar Posted On : August 12th, 2021
MBA General Management & Post Graduation in Supply Chain and Operations Management, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

One of my friends studied at NITIE Mumbai. According to him it is a prestigious public management institute and is often ranked among the top 10 B-schools of India. Let me share some information about the placements I got to know from him. This might be useful for you.

  • The highest salary offered in the PGDIE was INR 44 LPA.
  • The average salary of the whole batch from the previous year stood at INR 20.88 LPA.
  • There has been no record of the lowest salary below INR 12 LPA.
  • The students with a good academic background got a whopping salary of INR 31-36 PA respectively.

The placement stats show that irrespective of the student's performance, they have the potential to get good offers from diversified companies. Some of the well-reputed companies that participate at NITIE during their placement program include Bosch, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro, Byju’s, IBM, and many more.

Are JBIMS finance placements and packages at par when compared to IIM Calcutta?

VS
Vikram Singh Posted On : December 13th, 2022
Management Consultant. SPJIMR 2015-17

If you believe that the finance placements and packages at JBIMS are comparable to those at IIM Calcutta, you are mistaken.

JBIMS and IIM-C don't even agree on anything.

Some may argue that most companies that visit IIM-C also attend JBIMS, but the reality is hidden in the roles available and the salary packages available.

JBIMS is good for finance, but IIM-C is not comparable; it is in a different league entirely.

Which one is better: NMIMS, JBIMS, or SP Jain for Finance if I was looking for good placements and brands?

PK
Parneet Kaur Posted On : March 3rd, 2023
Former Admission Coordinator for NMIMS

If you are considering pursuing an MBA in finance at NMIMS, JBIMS, or SPJIMR, the ranking is JBIMS > SPJIMR > NMIMS.

JBIMS has a high-quality education due to the prominent faculty members who come to the campus regularly to teach and give guest lectures. Some of the notable faculty members include Prof. Moradian, Prof. Shivanand & Kedar Mankekar, Prof. Sandeep Gokhale, Prof. Ghadiyar, and Prof. Jagdeep Kapoor.

The institute also has an excellent placement record, with major companies such as Deloitte, EY, PwC, Accenture, Insofys, and KPMG visiting the campus. The average salary during the 2022 placement drive was INR 27.63 LPA, with the median CTC at INR 26.48 LPA and the highest salary at INR 42 LPA. The 2021 summer internship placement drive was also a success, with the highest stipend offered to be INR 5.67 Lakhs per month and the average stipend at INR 2.05 Lakhs per month.

JBIMS also has a strong industrial interface, with many companies providing live industrial projects to students, which is a significant benefit. The institute is located in Mumbai, which is close to many corporate headquarters, such as HDFC, ICICI, BCG, and McKinsey.

The institute has also performed well in national-level competitions, such as HUL LIME, P&G Dream Team, JP Morgan - The Deal, Nomura Investment Banking Case Study Contest, and PepsiCo BIAC. The alumni network of JBIMS is extensive, with notable alumni such as Noshir Kaka, Nitin Paranjpe, Kainaz Gazder, Vinita Bali, Mani Ratnam, Sam Balsara, Chanda Kocchar, Ajay Piramal, Paresh Sukhtankar, Sanjay Lalbhai, Rohit Narang, Shruti Bajpai, Ravi Chaturvedi, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Uday Kotak, Harish Manwani, Parag Gude, and many more. JBIMS is referred to as the "CEO factory," which is a testament to the quality of education and training provided.

How are the placements for food technology at Karunya University?

SG
Shraysh Gupta Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
Studied at Karunya University

There are no placements for food technology at Karunya University. I personally know a few alumni of the university who were offered to shift their branch from food technology to any other branch because there were only 14 of them in that batch.

If you are really interested in food technology then, I would suggest you make a plan for higher studies before taking admission in the food technology branch of Karunya University. Also, do not rely on the university for placements. They only focus on placements of IT, CSE students. Overall, the average CTC offered at the institute is 3-4 LPA.

Could Some seniors from Thapar University who bagged placements share what juniors could do to gain good placements?

DS
Disha Singh Posted On : August 6th, 2021
Studied at University of Mumbai (2019)

The seniors at Thapar University are really helpful and cooperative. Here are some things which might answer your question.

  • Finish CLRS “Introduction to Algorithms” textbook in your first year. This is the most important rule.
  • Start participating in programming contests, such as TopCoder SRMs, right from your first year.
  • Make sure you are a part of some cool projects in college.
  • Build your GitHub profile.
  • Engage in startup culture. Try to create jobs rather than looking for one.
  • Visit HackerNews (HN) every day. You'll learn great things and see cool projects worldwide.
  • Learn everything you can about Machine learning and Deep learning.
  • Play hard with CNNs, RNNs, GANs, etc. Try to create some cool projects around ML.
  • Engage in some real research work, better if under your professors and publish papers.
  • Study for placements during holidays.
  • Read “Cracking the coding interview”. Do placement questions from the career cup for your dream companies.
  • If you dream of Google, prepare hard for Google's APAC test. It is like another JEE.
  • Keep eye on reputed international internships and grab one if you can. Discuss more on this with your professors.

Lastly, it is suggested that you keep your body and mind fit. You need to stay healthy and think clearly during the placement process.

How is the placement of the IBS Hyderabad in finance?

DC
Dharamveer Singh Chouhan Posted On : February 16th, 2023
Studied at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad (2020)

Many get confused between ISB and IBS Hyderabad. The former is a top B School with high Global rankings while the latter is a mediocre college.

As far as placements are concerned, they depend more on an individual’s profile, skills, knowledge, and personality than the college they hail from. Yet I have to admit having IBS on your resume will definitely limit your chances of getting a decent package. This is because the brand value is low and it does not meet the standards of the top B Schools. I know a friend who after graduating from IBS did his internships at a top bank and ever since then has been unemployed in the search of a decent job.

My personal advice regarding higher education is that it’s better to invest and go for a college that will add value to your resume in the future than spend less money and go for a mediocre college that might make the job-hunting game a difficult one for you.

The FORE School of Management has increased its batch strength to 300. Is it worth joining this college? What are your views regarding placements and ROI?

RG
Rishabh Guha Posted On : July 22nd, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

One of my cousins is from the 2016-18 batch and during her batch, the strength was around 190 to 200. At present, it can be 200 to 300 easily.

When it comes to placements, I can confidently state that the figures on the FORE website are right. Placement in FORE is dominated by marketing, IT, and consulting positions. It outperforms IMI as far as ROI is concerned.

Check a brief insight on placements in the table below:

Top recruiters

Asian Paints, Nestle, Hindustan, Bacardi, TATA Motors, Hero, Whirlpool, HDFC, etc

Placement rate

97%

Average salary package

10.6 LPA

Highest salary package

30 LPA

In the end, it is up to you to decide whether or not you should join FORE. I would not recommend you to quit your job and study hard for the CAT if you want to get into tier 1 or 2 institutions. Give yourself some time to think properly about what you want or where you want to go and then decide something.

What is the NIT Kurukshetra CS average package and the highest package?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : September 1st, 2023
lives in New Delhi

I have a friend in NIT Kurukshetra who shared details of her accommodation there. The college is a fully residential campus perfect for nature lovers. The hostels for the first year students are

Boys

  • Abhimanyu Bhawan H-1
  • Bhishma Bhawan H-2
  • Chakradhar Bhawan H-3

Girls Hostel - Alaknanda

All the above hostels are pretty old yet well-maintained due to frequent renovations and reprints. The rooms allotted are triple occupancy. The cost is very low and can easily be afforded by everyone. The hostels have decent internet connections second only to the network provided by the CCN (Centre for Computing and Networking), which contains the main server.

Every hostel has its own mess but the food served is below average. Most of the time you will have to eat from outside despite paying monthly mess charges.

Overall, these hostels have a good ambiance and will give you some of the best memories of your life.
