Will opting for an international MBA from AIMS Bangalore be beneficial?

SD
Shruti Das Posted On : June 22nd, 2021
Studied at Calcutta University (2018)

One of my friends has graduated from AIMS Bangalore and he’s a successful alumnus of the college. AIMS Bangalore is prominently known internationally and is recognized nationally and internationally.

Well, the collaborated partners of AIMS Bangalore are -

  • University of California Riverside, USA
  • EM Normandie, France
  • Laval University, Canada
  • IMI - Switzerland and many more prominent universities.

One of my friends from MBA suggested not going to private universities as they charge high fees and the outcome isn’t worth it.

No. of recruiters participated

Choosing the college from India’s top 20 would be a good deal and you can go for Central Universities or NITs as they will charge the required amount and the outcome will be appreciable.

Before enrolling on MBA one has to score good marks in either of these exams CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ GMAT.

Is there anyone who has made it into top institutes like IIMs, FMS, SPJIMR, XLRI, etc. with average or below average scores in school and graduation?

SR
Srijana Roy Posted On : July 26th, 2021
GMP International Management, S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (2018)

Yes, if you have average percentage scores in 10th, 12th, and graduation, then also you can make your way to premier institutes like IIMs, XLRI, SPJIMR, etc. The academic score is not the only criteria for the selection of students in an MBA.

The points below give a brief overview of the categories that these institutes give stress in the selection process:

  1. SP Jain Institute of Management and Research gives a lot of attention to the work experience. A good CAT/ XAT score is necessary for securing an interview call at this institute. Build your profile along with a stronger academics background, in order to convert your call.
  2. FMS Delhi gives lot of preference is given to the CAT score itself. A very high weightage is given to the CAT score in the interviews of FMS too, which even increases the cut-off of the institute.

Different institutes have different requirements, as per the recruiters taking the interviews of students. This makes it evident that there are chances of students with low school and graduation percentages, but with a good entrance score and excellent work experience.

Is the PGDHRM of 1 year duration from SIBM Bangalore good?

HG
Himadri Gupta Posted On : September 8th, 2022
MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bengaluru

2-year MBAs are considered better than 1-year long PGDHRM. But if you are a working professional and you need a flexible course, SIBM Bangalore 1-year PGDHRM is a  good option. You will get decent exposure and networking opportunities. For this course, placements aren’t provided by the institute. But students get good job offers through off-campus placements.

My academic scores 10th in 56% and 12th in 74.5% and complete CA. Am I eligible for IIM Ahmedabad MBA?

Syed Yusuf Ashraf Posted On : May 8th, 2023

The two-year Post-graduate Programme in Management (PGP) at IIM Ahmedabad is a full-time residential course for graduates of all disciplines who desire to pursue a management career.

Seeing the eligibility criteria which state that you must have a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (this is relaxed to 45% for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates).

Therefore, you are qualified for IIM A.

IIM A and B give so much importance to past academics that applicants with comparable academic credentials are rarely even called. There are, however, students who gain admission to these colleges due to an exceptional Profile or CAT score.
