Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Pune (SIIB) established in 1992 is a constituent of the well-recognised Symbiosis Institute of Management. National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management also known as Manage was established in 1987 by the Ministry of Agriculture. Over the years both these institutions have been ranked amongst the top 50 B-Schools of the country.

It is hard to prefer one over the other but we try to analyse a few aspects here.

  • Course: At Manage, all courses are solely focused on the agribusiness sector and hence, the institute has a high brand value in this industry attracting lucrative offers. Also, it is run by the government, thereby ensuring quality of education and highly esteemed and experienced faculty members.
  • Fees: At SIIB, the fees for MBA in Agri Business Management is 10.8 lacs. While at Manage, it is 6.05 lacs for the same course.
  • Admission: For both these institutes, candidates need to meet the basic eligibility criteria of 50% throughout the academic career to apply. For SIIB, eligible students need to appear for SNAP followed by personal interview and written ability test. Manage scrutinizes students based on CAT score and then GD, followed by personal interview.
  • Seat intake: At SIIB, the total intake for MBA in Agribusiness is 60-100 while at Manage, it is 80-120.
  • Facilities: Both the institutions boast of the state-of-the-art infrastructure. SIIB’s library provides membership facilities like APICS, SHRM and NHRD. SIIB also has international collaborations with Dauphine University, Berlin School of Economics and Law, Lisbon School of Economics and Management.

How is the BIMTECH placement for the PGDM?

KM
Koushani Mitra Posted On : July 8th, 2021
Studied at XLRI Jamshedpur (2019)

BIMTECH is one fine college to choose to join and PGDM is their flagship course. They have good placement records. One of my friends studied there and never had any complaints about it.

The following table shows a brief overview of the institutes:

Categories PGDM at BIMTECH
Course Fee 12 lakhs
Highest CTC 18-23 LPA
Average CTC 9-11 LPA
Recruiting Companies Amazon, Accenture, Wipro, Infosys, etc.

A good number of 50+ companies have covered a recruitment process. When the rate of the economy was moving at a slower pace, the institute still witnessed companies showing up in the placement drives.

I can assure you that once you are at an institute like BIMTECH, you should right away stop worrying and being skeptical about getting placed.

Narsee Monjee's BA, TAPMI's PGDM Core, and KJ Somaiya's PGDM Core have been praised by industry professionals. The perfect program for you relies on your preferences, goals, and skills.

Data analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence are the focus of NM’s BA program. Data analytics and allied students are targeted by the program. The program emphasizes technical skills and hands-on experience through projects and internships.

Which is better, IMI Delhi BF&S or Great Lakes Chennai PGDM, considering I have no particular inclination towards finance but IMI is the bigger brand?

NC
Nikhil Chaturvedi Posted On : March 16th, 2023
Studied MBA-Rural Management (MBA-RM) at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar

If you have the option of dropping a year and preparing for CAT, XAT, or other entrance exams, it may be worth considering. You can use the extra time to study and improve your scores, which could lead to better opportunities in the future.

However, if you have decided to pursue an MBA this year, there are several factors to consider before choosing between IMI and GLIM. You should look at the return on investment (ROI), fees, faculty, location, and placement records of both institutions to determine which one is a better fit for you.

It is important to note that neither the Business Forensic & Fraud Management (BF&S) program at IMI nor the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program at GLIM are the flagship programs of their respective institutions. You may want to research the other programs offered by each school to see if they align with your career goals.

Personally, I would recommend GLIM over IMI. However, you should make your decision based on your own research and preferences, taking into account factors such as the curriculum, faculty, industry connections, and career prospects. It is important to choose a program that aligns with your career aspirations and provides the best value for your investment in terms of education, skills, and networking opportunities.
