Should I consider VIT Vellore over PEC Chandigarh if I am getting mechanical at both places?

RT
Ravistha Taneja Posted On : May 4th, 2021
Studied at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore (2019)

A few cousins of mine have completed their B.Tech from VIT Vellore with different branches. With them being successfully placed, their experience says you must choose VIT among both of these. Here’s why:

  • Mechanical engineering at VIT Vellore is far better as you will get better exposure there. There is a huge emphasis on students coming up with their innovations and technology.
  • The quality of students at VIT can be easily compared with that of top NITs, as there is no caste-based reservation at VIT unlike PEC, Chandigarh.

In the end, it is best recommended to choose VIT Vellore for Mechanical engineering as it offers better exposure and opportunities. However, PEC is also a good college and its fee structure is quite nominal as compared to VIT. In case of budget constraints, go for PEC.

How is production engineering at the NIT, Jalandhar?

KS
Kajal Sharma Posted On : July 9th, 2021
B.Tech CSE, NIT Jalandhar (2019)

Product engineering is one of the oldest departments at NIT Jalandhar. Here is a brief outline of the Production Engineering course at the institute.

Total Fee

6.76 lakhs

Companies Visited

Samsung, ZS, Optum, etc.

Average CTC

8 lakhs

Highest Package

43 lakhs

The faculty of this department is really cooperative, they will not pressurize you during their B.Tech. It is your responsibility to take the initiative and explore the opportunities because you will not be spoon-fed in college. But you can always approach the faculty regarding any problem.

If we talk about the placement scenario, there are a good number of companies that come to the campus and you can only get placed if you study hard. The campus scenario for the previous years has not been good but it has still ranked among the best campus placements. You can also try and study some advanced courses in classes that will help you to improve your CV.

How is the chemical engineering branch in Haldia Institute of Technology? Should I join?

RR
Ravi Ranjan Rai Posted On : September 15th, 2021
Studied at Haldia Institute of Technology

Chemical Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology used to be one of the best courses at the institute. But with years the condition of this branch has gotten worse. The old faculty members have retired. The current faculty base is not that great.

I have a few friends from the institute and according to them, if you are keen on exploring the field of chemistry then Haldia would not be one of your best choice institutes. But the placements here are decent. In the 2020 placements, the highest and average CTC offered was 3.5 LPA and 24 LPA.

What should I choose between IIT Roorkee electrical or IIT Bhubaneswar CSE in terms of placement and future prospects?

A
Admin Posted On : July 2nd, 2024

In this case, Electrical Engineering at IIT Roorkee would be a better option. The only exception being that you have an inclination towards studying CSE.

IIT Roorkee enjoys a strong national and international reputation. While IIT Bhubaneswar is growing and gaining recognition, it can’t yet match the established reputation of IIT Roorkee. The strong alumni network of IIT Roorkee provides significant advantages in terms of mentorship, networking and job opportunities. Additionally, Electrical Engineering provides a solid foundation for higher studies and research.

Here are the 2023 placement statistics of Electrical Engineering at IIT Roorkee:

Branch Highest Package Average Package Median Package
EE INR 44.62 LPA INR 19.05 LPA INR 15 LPA

CSE is a highly known branch with numerous opportunities in the tech industry, and placements for CSE are generally strong. But the newer IITs do not attract as many top-tier companies for placements as old IITs like IIT Roorkee.

In conclusion, I would suggest you choose Electrical Engineering at IITR over CSE at IIT BBSR.

Which is the best department in B.Tech Amrita?

OK
Om Kashyap Posted On : July 16th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science, Amrita University (2020)

It depends on your future goals and interests. If you want to pursue a job afterward then CSE will be the best branch for you. It will give you better opportunities than any other branch. You can choose Mechanical if you are interested in the automobile sector. If you are interested in robotics then the ECE branch would be a better option for you.

The CSE branch is good at Amrita University because the college has various types of technical groups like FOSS. This group is dedicated to creating open-source projects and completing various technical projects like Google's summer code. There are a large number of selects for this kind of project as well. If you are interested in security systems then this college has got the number 1 CTF team. If you are interested in programming then there is a dedicated programming group as well. There are a large number of competitions held in these groups. These groups will strengthen your core skills. The faculties of the CSE branch are also quite experienced and cooperative.

What are the benefits of joining a B.Tech college in Delhi NCR instead of LNCT Bhopal?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : April 1st, 2023
lives in New Delhi

If your JEE Mains didn't go well but you have a good rank in UPTU entrance exam, KIET Ghaziabad could be a good option for you. Here are some things to consider:

  • If you get CSE, you can attend classes at coding blocks or coding ninjas, which have awesome faculty and can help you gain a lot of experience in coding. Also, the placements at these institutes are great.
  • If you get any core branch, your placement will depend on how well you perform in GATE or any other government engineering exam like IES.
  • If you want to pursue MBA or MS in the future, Delhi NCR has some of the best institutes for preparation.
  • You will find some of the best people in Delhi NCR, who are academically good as well as smart, serious about their life, and have a goal in their life. You can learn a lot about life from them.

However, please note that some people in Delhi NCR may have bad habits, especially those from a strong financial background. So, you need to choose the best opportunities for yourself while enjoying life and getting successful.

I was getting metallurgy in IIT Bhubaneswar and IT in IIIT Allahabad but I chose the latter. Was it a mistake ?

RB
Rajeev Batra Posted On : August 14th, 2020
Studied at International Institute of Information Technology, Bhubaneswar

You didn’t make a mistake as long as you are pursuing the branch that you are interested in. IIIT Allahabad is surely a good choice. The tag of IIT offers certain advantages but Metallurgy as a branch has less scope as far as placements are concerned. According to 2019 placement statistics, there was a 90% placement from Metallurgy at IIT Bhubaneswar.

Information technology offers more job roles and scope. According to last year’s placement statistics of IIIT Allahabad, there were a total of 95% placements from this institute with an average package of Rs.15.5 lakhs. The highest package is Rs.39 lakhs. More than 120 recruiters came for campus placement from different sectors ranging from software to healthcare.

Overall, if information technology is the path that you wanted to pursue as a career, then definitely you made the right choice.

Which is the best option among mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad, CSE at PEC Chandigarh, and CSE at NIT Kurukshetra?

AD
Arushi Debnath Posted On : May 4th, 2021

This totally depends on your choices and interests. As the college administration is unknown towards your logical mind in doing computer programming all day or managing a manufacturing unit.

If you choose Mechanical Engineering as a branch, it is far better than Computers, where the second one is more subjective than the first one. For this reason, you can easily become an expert in computer programming, and it is not so easy to become a mechanical engineering expert.

But if you are interested in mechanical, or want to appear in IES after completing the BTech degree, then studying mechanical from MNNIT will be the best decision for you.

Besides, if you want to take Computer Science to be settled in top MNCs, studying CSE in PEC will be the best decision for you, rather than studying it in NIT K.

NIT Calicut doesn’t have any dress code. Students are allowed to attend classes in casuals. But as a student of NIT Calicut, you need to follow proper decorum. Although there are no recommended rules regarding dress codes, students are expected to dress in a decent manner.

How is IT at IIIT Vadodara?

IP
Isha Pandey Posted On : July 15th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior (2020)

One of my seniors was a student of IIIT Vadodara and he praised how academics were carried out in the institute. The faculty in the institute is highly qualified and has a lot of experience in the field they are teaching. They have PhDs from premier universities. IIIT Vadodara grants admission to applicants based on their applications.

IIIT Vadodara is popular because of its CSE and IT programs. In addition to that, the institute also offers courses in management and ones related to business which also attracts its fair share of applicants. However, if you want to study hardware and CS in theory, you will probably be disappointed.

The institute is currently in operation from the GEC campus which is Gandhinagar, Gujarat. IIIT Vadodara is very popular for its coding culture and has a reputation for recruiting companies like ICICI Bank, Mathworks, and Amazon.
