How's life at BVP, Bharti Vidyapeeth, IPU, Delhi?
My senior from school graduated from Bharti Vidyapeeth. He described his college life as a unique amalgamation of emotions and events. The college pays strict attention to its attendance criteria, internally evaluating their students as well as how much freedom should be granted to the students in many college aspects. These measures can act as a positive as it can give the students a sense of responsibility throughout their tenure as a student of this college and also an effective way to keep distractions at bay. Some features are:
Infrastructure:
The infrastructure of the college is quite good. However, compared to other engineering colleges, the campus is very small. Labs and equipment are up to date and are properly maintained.
Academics:
The faculty of Bharti Vidyapeeth tries their best to provide quality education. That being said, they are not lenient at all. Working for the minimum marks requires a lot of hard work in internal examinations. Teachers may aid you if your aim is to perform research in the future.
Technological Societies:
- Technological societies in Bharti Vidyapeeth are in abundance. Some of them are IEEE, GDG, and ISTE.
- Each of them come with their own benefits. Some of these societies have their very own technical fests. The technical fest Bvest, is reputed to be a good technical fest.
- Some of the other active societies apart from technological ones are NSS and the Dramatics Society Zaahir.
Cultural and Co-curricular:
The cultural front of the college is somewhat weak in some aspects.
- The college has only one cultural fest which is not exuberant. The college participates in almost every competition in Augoonj which is the annual cultural fest of IPU.
- Sports is also very active in the college. You will have a good time if you are a sports enthusiast.
Placements:
- According to student reviews, core company placements are very low, IT companies visit the campus for placements. Some of the top recruiters at the institute are Thoughtworks, TCS, EY, etc.
- Individual performance throughout the tenure of the program determines placements.
As it already has been said, the college is not known to be lenient. However, it will not stop the students from reaching out to opportunities like taking part in national-level competitions or attending workshops, or gaining experience in entrepreneurship. You just need to maintain good academics.
What are the college timings for an MMS course at JBIMS and Sydenham?
Any typical day at JBIMS depends on your workload and the ongoing semester. The duration of lectures is 3 hours with a small break. The lectures take place in the following shifts
- 7 am-10 am
- 2 pm-5 pm
- 6:30 pm-9 pm
There might be one, two, or three lectures depending on your course. Another set of events that constitute a major part of your day is committee-related events like competitions. Apart from that you are always busy preparing for your presentations and assignments. Attending guest lectures is mandatory and no one can evade them.
The first semester is the busiest as it’s packed with induction, committee election, summer placements, and lectures. You won’t be able to sleep more than 4-5 hours a day and then soon adapt to the strenuous college life.
How is the campus life of BITS Pilani main campus when we compare it with IIT Delhi?
BITS Pilani is known for its huge and impressive campus and its beautiful infrastructure combined with top-quality education attracts many aspirants. There are some valid reasons I am stating as to why one should choose BITS Pilani over IIT Delhi
- There are no compulsory attendance rules which give you enough freedom to prioritize things and manage your time well
- The timetable is rather flow-like as it’s designed by the students itself and there are some additional electives apart from Engineering subjects to break the monotony.
- An excellent campus with top-notch infrastructural facilities makes the learning experience more comfortable for the students.
- BITS Pilani offers single rooms to its students from the second year itself giving the students a private dove to function well
- The school lays great emphasis on transforming theoretical knowledge into practice through compulsory internships which are a brilliant experience.
All these reasons convinced my sister to join BITS Pilani and today she is glad she took the decision.
How would you rate IIM Lucknow - Noida Campus for PGP course?
My friend is currently pursuing the EGMP program and has a lot to say about it. Although the primary campus of IIM Lucknow is in Lucknow, all the Executive Education Programs are conducted at the Noida Campus which is the secondary campus.
The quality of the curriculum and pedagogy remains the same for the regular PGP courses and EGMP courses. The same learned faculty teaches at both campuses. Even the study material and curriculum are the same.
Moreover, once you have completed the program successfully you will be granted a certificate for the completion from IIM Lucknow with an alumni status. But these programs have no placements. Except for IPMX, all the other Executive Education Programs lack placements.
My friend is very happy with the course content and the quality of education offered. Infact, some of the IIM Lucknow professors are guest lecturers in some of the best B schools in India and abroad.
How is campus life at IIT Delhi?
IIT Delhi is an elite engineering Institute of national importance located in Hauz Khas, Delhi over a sprawling campus of 320 acres.
Faculty: Extremely learned and experienced faculty members, industry experts visiting as guest faculty and some international faculty make up a diverse faculty pool at IIT Delhi.
Cultural Activities
- The Board for Recreational and Cultural Activities(BRCA) comprises all the cultural clubs of IITD including Debating, Quizzing, Literary, Dance, Drama, and Fine Arts.
- The BRCA organizes the splendid cultural fest called Rendezvous
- BSP or the Board for Student Publications prints regular magazines and newsletters and organizes the literary fest, Literati,
BSW
- BSW or the Board of Students Welfare is a body of elected students that represent students before the administration and convey their issues
- BSW organizes a fun festival, Esperanza The body also controls all acts of ragging banning it completely

- The campus also offers amenities like Staff Clubs, hospitals, Shopping Centres, Banks, Post Offices, Telecom Centres, Community centers, stadiums, Playing Fields, etc. There are eleven boys’ hostels and two girls’ hostels.
- The best hostels are Udaigiri or Girnar hostels, and all other hostels offer minimal facilitated rooms.
- The mess food is almost completely edible.
Places to explore
Inside the campus you have - Cafeteria, Café Coffee Day, Night Messes, and Students’ Activity Centre(SAC) which is the center that promotes indoor sports and gym as well as BRCA events.
Outside the campus, you can explore - SDA Market, Ber Sarai, Hauz Khas Village, Connaught Place, and PVR Priya.
What's it like to be a postgraduate student in NIMHANS?
One of my friends was a student from an electronics engineering background who took Neuroscience for M.Phil. A lot of people have questioned his choice, but he said that it was a good decision and enjoyed learning about the course. Let me share his experience.
- He, including all other students, was posted in a new department every month. His first posting was in Human Genetics.
- They used to have a lecture series, starting with the History of Genetics, Basic Readings, Hot Research Topics, etc. This was followed by practicals with hands-on training.
- They attended all the seminars, journal club, viva, or thesis defenses happening in the department.
- Towards the end of their one-month posting; they have to present a seminar, submit an assignment, and take an internal exam.
- They also interact with the Ph.D. students to get an overview of research carried out in each department.
- The course was designed in such a way that full freedom is given to learning.
If you do not study and follow properly, it becomes difficult. He was content with his choice, stating that it is hard work that only matters. Except for the MD courses and nursing specialties all the courses here at NIMHANS are super specialties and research degrees (Ph.D./MPhil).
Where is life better, Nirma University or PDPU? Which has better placements?
According to the reviews online, here is a comparison between the two colleges Nirma University and PDPU.
- The campus life is better in PDPU than Nirma, there are a lot of rules and regulations students have to strictly follow.
- In Nirma a 85% attendance is to be maintained by the students to be able to sit for the examinations.
- The overall academic pressure is more in PDPU than Nirma.
- In Nirma, UG students do not get hostels.
- Placements depend more on your branch than the institution.
- CS and IT Nirma are much better than PDPU. Petroleum Engineering is the best in PDPU. Maximum students are hired by ONGC from PDPU.
- Nirma provides much better transportation facilities than PDPU.

Lastly, it can be stated that Nirma is slowly deteriorating, on the other hand PDPU is gaining popularity and recognition. So, if you want to pursue Petroleum Engineering go for PDPU, otherwise Nirma will be a better option.

yoIIM Sambalpur is one of the most underrated IIMs situated in a serene peaceful area. Unlike other IIMs, the ambiance here is calm and not stressful. - Hostel: The accommodation facilities are pretty good at Sambalpur University Hostel. Students are provided with double occupancy rooms and the mess is controlled by them. Other amenities are a pool, table tennis, and carrom to spend your leisure time.
- Peer-learning: IIM Sambalpur welcomes some elite students that are extremely talented from all over India. To propose a better peer learning experience, common rooms and separate study rooms are provided.

Life at Gargi College, DU is competitive yet fun. The academics offered at the college is great. It also has a decent infrastructure. There are many societies and clubs. Almost every day there are some extracurricular activities taking place. Various departments conduct talks and discussions around the academic year. Reverie, the annual fest of the college is one of the most popular fests in DU. Overall, you will have a memorable time on campus.
